People unhooking dont stop after being hit?

i dont get it.

so a guy is hooked. another guy comes up and unhooks.

i the killer, want to stop him from hooking, what do i do? so far ive been hitting that person but seemingly that doesnt stop the unhooking from happening. they both still get down, and run their seperate ways.

what do i do? shouldnt being hit stop the action from happening?

    Yes. Same applies to grabbing them when they perform other actions (working gens, cleansing totems, or vaulting).

    oh dear. ive been lounging at them because of the gap closing.

    can you also grab with the Pig in stealth?

    Back when the pig has a glitch, people started to stand instead of Sprint attack. There is a very small window between crouching and standing where you have no heartbeat. If you come around a corner and time it right you can grab people off a gen. Takes practice

    You know what.

    i get that you can grab people that tries to unhook, but most of the times, you are too late so you only get the hit in, and they still get the guy down. they both run off afterwards.

    so yea, hitting someone should stop the unhooking, because im being ganged up on so hard. all of them just run up and spam unhook and eventually they get the person down and run off injured.

    No killer can grab off gens or unhook from stealth. If you cant regular attack, cant grab

    The cool down from a hit will let someone unhook after recieving a hit

    im not talking about the pig. im talking in general.

    a regular hit doesnt stop unhooking. and unless you get them pretty quick, the unhooker (odd word) wont be grabbed, just hit. while that makes sense on people vaulting or going through windows, i feel like the unhooking should stop if the person gets hit.

    The unhooking does stop upon being hit, so I dont get what you mean? If the progress bar for unhook is full, it is completed. Hit them before bar is full

    The hit stops the progress, but they can usually redo another attempt and get them lose before your cooldown is done. You likely just didn't notice they restarted the attempt.

    if you want to stop the attempt cold, you need to be going for a grab like others have explained. Getting a wounding on the guy doing the rescue is never a bad thing though. Rotating people on the hook is an acceptable outcome in most cases.

    dunno. ive been hitting plenty guys unhooking and the guy still ended up going down. maybe it was after the bar was done and the animation of them carrying them down just wasnt over i dont know. it would appear that the bar is shorter than the animation

    The bar is short, also because it's peed to peer killer can be behind the survivor or vice versa. Official servers would be nice lol. For example, if a survivor on their screen is across the pallet and they don't have both feet on the floor even if they are out of your reach, on your screen they are still sliding across so you can hit them. Certain things like this. Also the multiple animations. Let the survivors share the hook, free hook for you, go after the savior in case the dude has borrowed time to give to the rescued survivor.
