Very Rare 1-2 a year Auric Cell Hunt Please
Blood hunts are so yesterday, we need Auric Cell hunts bro. I'd not mind having an Auric Cell Hunt even if its just 1-2 hunts per year. Give us 5-10 auric cells per match or something like that during these hunts so we can collect and hoard them! We're not all rich here an can afford full sets of cosmetics, I"m sure the Devs could pull this off if they did it right.

So basically dropping the value of all outfits that people have spent to 0.
It is a paid currency, unless you win a competition, or they give some away in the Battlepass I highly doubt they'll be handing out their buyables any time soon.

People have put thousands of hours into this game. If they did an auric hunt people would play nonstop the whole time and they'd lose so much money. The only way this would work is if there was a cap. Like one outfit's worth.

I would love one because I ######### hate the $10 price point of some of the skins. Unfortunately, we can’t have it because the devs let the greed get to their heads.

League of Legends literally made all skins free obtainable a few years ago. 1 guy asks in this forums to do an event 1 time a year to get some auric cells to buy skins (and he said 5-10 for match, so more than 100 games to get a 10€ skin) and people disagree. This community is amazing.

This isn't League, and Behavior isn't Riot. They don't have the billions of dollars Riot has where they can afford to start giving away previously paid content for free. That's not a fair comparison to make.
With regards to the OP, maybe a shard hunt would be viable, where you get extra shards per game or per level. But auric cells? No. Cells and shards are separate currencies for a reason. One is earnable through grind, one is only buyable with real money. Once you start letting players grind for cells, even if it's only rarely, you might as well just merge the two and be done with it.
If you want to get auric cells without paying for them, enter the competition 😉

Lmao BHVR will NEVER do that, even when they would swim in money like noone else. Companies won't gift you money without a reason behind it. A reason which gives them more profit. That's how business works.
I can imagine iridescent shards hunt, but even that is extremely unlikely to happen.

I suggested to make a trade off system in the old Wishlist subsection.
where you trade Bloodpoints for Shards and shards for bloodpoints.
Since 2000 shards = 150,000 Bloodpoints
That Means 1 Shard = 75 Bloodpoints
So.. 1,000,000 Bloodpoints ≈ 13,333 Shards.
This would make the grind a tiny bit easier, and also has a draw back.
If you don't want to upgrade your character and instead want all the shrine perks, (8,000 Shards) and a few outfits Now you can, at the cost of not upgrading!
If you already got everyone to Prestige 3 and max Level? This change is great as well for you beacuse I bet you don't have every clothing item ;)
So the trading system could work.

2K Shards = 150K BP
You can only fit 150K into 1,000,000 6.6 times.
2000 x 6.6 = 13,200ish
To make it easier for you, 1,000,000 / 75 = 13,333.333...
I swear you were bragging to me in another thread about being a business major or something, smh simple maths.
Despite the maths being totally incorrect, this doesn't change the fact that outfits are supposed to be bought or a reward for grinding out shards, I can grind out a million BP in a matter of hours playing killer and would have every iri shard outfit within two weeks.

If this were done as some sort of contest in-game where only a handful of people get the Auric Cells I could get behind it.
But doing it the same as a Bloodhunt event, no. Devs would never do that because it devalues the paid content and would just piss off people that actually paid for stuff.

Yes, we get it...not all of us can afford cosmetics and such.
However, there HAS to be a reward for people investing real money into the game.
You’re correct in assuming it’ll be an easy feat, but stupid. This idea will only lead to lost revenue for the game, so less time and money going to things like: tech support, customer service, patches, new content, dedicated servers...you get the point. Sorry, resounding hell no from me...support out community!

I'd be fine with maybe 1 cell per match for 2 days. You know, as a way to give some of the people who are like 50 cells away from a new outfit but don't want to buy 500 more for $7 some cells.

if you want the outfits for free, there are already (very rare) events that allow you to gain those outfits for shards.
they will cost 7.200 shards per piece (21.600 for a full set) and will only be available for like 2 days, so you better save them up.

No. Maybe if all skins had a Iridescent shard price (except for Holiday event stuff or licensed characters).
That way people can get any cosmetic they want if they earn for it. Encourages gameplay for ones that don't have the money but there is the option to buy cells for those that don't want to spend the time.

league did not do this, the only free skins you can get is from boxes or event orbs both of which are random skin drops and you can only obtain 4 boxes per week and only once per champion you can get an s ranking on in a year (you also need the dust to convert those skins into permanent, which you get from dusting other skins)
this game and its chapters are very reasonably priced and yet people still expect to just be given free cosmetics
