Character Lore for the Stranger Things Characters (PTB)
I must say, that in regards to design, sound, animations, maps and music, the Chapter of Stranger Things is amazing and captures the feel of the show. The lore information that we got for the characters, however:
Are disappointing to the say the least. I know that they are licensed character of a running show and probably couldn’t go into much detail about the Upside Down and plot things like that, but is still too short, we had licensed characters before, and they never were this small. Hell, I think that these are the shortest and less detailed lore entries of any character, not even the originals killers had this few lines of stories. Is just too bare bones, like they forgot to write the lore and had to rush it 10 minutes before the launch. The add-ons phrases that appear are also not great either, repeating themselves in several add-ons…
And is a shame, because the lasts lore entries had been amazing, telling us so much about the killers and survivors, their stories... And even if they could not go into the background information because they were licensed, they described with detail how the characters got there, like with Ash and Freddy. But here? Nancy pursued a lead, Steve followed Nancy, The Entity somehow choose the Demogorgon...Is just bad.

It is interesting. Every other license since Halloween has had a detailed backstory explaining why the characters are here
Its interesting that Netflix wouldn't allow more than a handwave explanation for their appearance here. Don't even get any information on whether this is a new demo or one specifically from the show

People were calling Legion's backstory bad... No. THIS is bad.

Why was Legion's story considered bad? I felt it was pretty good all things considering.
And yeaaahhh... The lore is pretty bad. I guess they assume that people will check out Stranger Things for the full story?

People say it is horribly unoriginal and cliche. Even though, in my opinion, it's actually one of the better lore we got.

Didn't the Devs say they brought in some people who wrote for the show to help with this chapter? Yikes, man.

I’m very very disappointed in these. These read like a high schooler from reddit wrote them.
I wonder if Netflix limited how much they could say in the bios or something, because we know they can write detailed backstories even for licensed characters like Freddy and Ash.

I'm pretty sure Netflix wanted to keep it limited to.
1.get people to watch the show
2.keep spoilers from any part of the show free.
It's still bad but like someone else said it's better then the half baked 5th grader essay we got with laurie

If they wanted people to watch the show they did a really bad job of getting people interested with the bios. I actually watched all 3 seasons for the first time after seeing the trailer for the dlc. If i didn't tho i probably would be less likely too after reading those bios because they really downplay the characters

The demogorgon lore is OK at best considering the Denogorgon isnt sentinent and it's only thought process is Kill eat repeat
