Yes sir! In the great area of UPSTATE (sorry, I have to capitalize) New York! It's near Horseheads I think...another charming town name. There's a lot of charming town names in NY. The guy who wrote the original Legend was Washington Irving iirc, perhaps he, like many other writers ripped it off some other folklore. But it would be cool to have a guy throw pumpkins at survivors...

Better idea: Nessie looks like a survivor at first, but when it asks for 350 BP you realize it's the killer.

Mothman - West Virginia
Jersey Devil - New Jersey

Imo I think giving a shapeshifting ability to a Werewolf/Lycan Killer would fit perfectly, the problem is trying to find a way to balance it to where SWF groups can’t counter it just by communicating.

Nobody cares about Hodag, eh?
Probably because nobody knows what it is...
Until it's too late...

Google it.
Rhinelander Wisconsin.
They hold a Hodag fest every year (to honor it, pay tribute, sacrifice virgins...but mostly to raise money for a small town)..kids go looking for it...It's like bigfoot...only WAY more scary.
But also much dumber...

Debatable.
She pretty much is one yeah, but people would argue with this as a Wendigo doesn't teleport from place to place with engravings drawn in mud on the ground. However, the basic concept of the Wendigo though is with her.

How about the Wampus Cat taken from Cherokee mythology. In Cherokee mythology, the monster is the cat-like embodiment of a female onlooker cursed by tribal elders, as punishment for hiding beneath the pelt of a large wild cat to witness a sacred ceremony.
