The Devs Are Still Singin The Same Old Blues
"Dedicated Servers should be released as of Summer 2019"
"Dedicated Servers should be released as of Fall 2019"
Now watch them say "Dedicated Servers should be released as of Spring 2020"
The hype surrounding ST has died out for some because the new players I have interacted with have clearly stated "This game is trash there's too many issues." "How the hell did the killer hit me through the window even though I already vaulted and was running." "These Gens are getting done too fast this isn't fair." "These survivors are tryhards.." "These killers are tryhards..." "Dedicated servers got pushed back again, dude what the #########?" "I want my refund this game is trash I'm getting F13th, I don't care if that game is dead." Of course the biggest one.
"THIS GAME IS TOXIC"
Lol I've said this once and I will glady say this again. Stranger Things isn't enough to save this game, and it's facts. Newcomers will be discouraged to continue to play the game, the same cesspool of people who have been carrying this game above ground since 2016 are slowly growing tired of this game. Then these people got the nerve to release DBD on Nintendo Switch???? Should be focusing on your game mechanic that Survivors and Killers are complaining about. It's not that hard to pool your resources into the developer team instead of your arts team to push out these cosmetics.
The simplest solution to fix this decaying game is to focus on game mechanics and how to improve them instead of taking the cash grabbing route of putting these same game mechanic fixes in DLCs. BHVR you are not slick, I'm not dropping money on a game that fails to address issues within the game and try to give out cheap fixes in terms of Perks, that I have to pay for and forced to agree to any changes made to those said perks. Yes I am talking about MoM deal with it.
It's clear this game has taken the route of the Madden and 2k Franchise and it's only a matter of time before this game becomes a joke. This game can improve if they really tried putting forth effort in addressing game mechanics. I enjoyed the game and want it to do well but you can't have a game doing well when you turn a blind eye to the most obvious issues that people are having.

Your not entirely wrong, their definitely are things in this game that will turn away many new players
6 -
Im spitting straight facts I haven't said anything that is untrue. DLCs with perks in them that fixes game mechanics are Cash grabs case in point Demomgorgon's perks Mind Breaker Cruel Limits Surge all of these perks are literally to counter looping and to slow the game down which is a in game mechanics that they can fix. Do I need to go on with the survivors perks?
1 -
So you wanted the buggy mess that the dedicated servers on the PTB were to be live now?
15 -
No he's just pointing out false promises, cause those arent their priority.
6 -
I would rather them release dedicated servers in a less buggy form.
5 -
I agree that they do use dlc perks to fix the game problems. They been doing it since when the Hag originally came out.
And all the demogorgon perks to me personally are trash
2 -
Yes I welcome it because dedicated Servers on both PC and Consoles are two separate issues. Look at for Honor for example. They dropped dedicated Servers for consoles yes there were issues but it took only a week for them to tweak it and dedicated Servers were working perfectly fine. Why can't dbd do the same
1 -
Same here. Buggy and terrible dedicated servers when launched can easily kill this game.
If killer feels to off for me or not right, I probably would stop playing the game
0 -
Then you wouldn't see it until 2021 if you're lucky.
0 -
Legit, I don't think this guy realizes the backlash the devs would face from the majority if they released it in its current form. Reviews would be worse, player counts would go down, etc.
0 -
Not really a false promise. If Dedicated Servers would have worked, they would have been released with the next Chapter.
They did not work, so no release. Logical and the correct decision.
7 -
Let's be real you probably wouldn't. I know this because there's tons of issues and bugs in the game right now and apparently it hasn't swayed you from playing the game.
1 -
Lmao. Stop exaggerating.
For the time being, I'm fine being patient and playing in green ping matches.
3 -
So, again, you wanted an unfinished product?
Probably because Ubisoft's net worth is over three and a half billion dollars and have almost 16,000 employees to Bhvr's 500.
Edit: Or if only Ubisoft Montreal is working on For Honor, that's still over 3,500 employees.
3 -
The bugs in this game are minor compared to the past.
This is obviously a bait thread, so goodbye.
5 -
It is false promises they said specifically it should be released in the summer 2019 which means they had plans to release the servers in that time which they didn't. Then they said it should be released with the new stranger things chapter which was really the driving factor in the hype of the release. Kaput it didn't happen again.
0 -
Where did they say they should be released with the ST chapter? We only tested them again on the PTB.
0 -
i mean...
according to the stats, the overall playercount has increased, so...
i dont think the game is dying...
like, not at all...
7 -
You mean the same dev team that's stationed in Canada That's has only roughly 700 people on their team.
0 -
You and I must not be playing the same then. Goodbye
1 -
Planned to be released and promised to be released first of all is two different things!
I would much rather dedicated servers were held off on, and released when they're working correctly rather than release them with the issues that were in the PTB which were game breaking.
I guess it's a case with some people of damned if they do and damned if they don't - fortunately from what I've seen, most people are happy to have the dedicated servers delayed until they work properly, rather than release them early when they're clearly not ready!
17 -
PTB kills the hype for every chapter , especially for console, and its useless most of the time too, i mean how many gamebreaking bugs have been fixed because of the ptb anyways? how many significant balance changes came out of it? idk, i just feel like ptb is not only killing the hype for new chapters but also not actually helping at all balance the game mainly because theres not a lot of ppl that actually play it
that said, idc if they postpone servers cuz if they suck with a small playerbase theyll suck with the whole playerbase and itll mess everything up
5 -
Where are you getting 700? Because the Ubisoft Montreal website says over 3500.
0 -
And @Tzeentchling9 .
When you make an announcement for something, you work hard and make it happen. Not a crappy last minute rushed bandage. Its been almost a year now that they are "working" on it. Stop making excuses.
1 -
I personally don't experience a whole lot of bugs, unless it's general bugs affecting everyone like the "wake up" bug.
Are their many balance issues and problems with the game, yes there are. I've stopped playing the game less and less since the legion change/plague release as I don't agree with the things their doing. Only playing like once a week now.
I hate ghostface and dislike freddy for them two just having the same powers as other killers only somewhat different.
I'm giving them a chance with dedicated servers, it's extremely important for them to be done right. Especially with killers no longer being the host, it will be very different for them
1 -
Ptb as always just been, "come look at all the content and upcoming changes" and never about actually testing the content expect with the dedicated servers as that's a must test.
Two weeks isn't enough to test something and get feedback then change it again for more testing and the devs know this. That's why those ghostface changes got hotfix after the release though it was meant to be in the ptb. The devs got what the deserved and get bashed for many people see those changes as immediate nerfs for ghostface
1 -
they should just not use them unless its something like servers, a new mechanic or a really big update
0 -
I'm not sure if you noticed but a ton of workers from the for Honor team has quit plenty of them
0 -
At this point they should only use it for that.
Not including the dedicated servers, if people didn't play the ptb (stranger things dlc) nothing major had changed because the community played it.
0 -
It was on this site dude. They said literally dedicated should be released with the stranger things chapter
1 -
I don't recall. Care to provide the thread that was mentioned in? I just remember a lot of people asking for a date as summer wore on. @Peanits @not_Queen was there an official statement that the ST chapter would have the dedicated servers included?
2800 of them? The point still stands that obisoft is ######### massive compared to Bhvr.

Man what a bad idea it was coming to this forum. This place is kind of depressing. I just got the game 6 days ago and have been playing it non-stop. Haven't had this much fun since Left 4 Dead. Pretty much all I've seen here is people bashing the game, calling it toxic, and now this guy saying that new players will be discouraged. Well I can definitely assure you I haven't been discouraged once yet. I've been having an absolute blast. Maybe my experience is different because I'm playing on console, I don't know. Anyways I guess people will always find something to complain about.
13 -
Yep because they made some questionable decisions kinda like BHVR they had an original idea new faces new mechanics and ######### execution.
0 -
We were told that they hoped servers to be ready for September, they never promised it.
2 -
BHVR should be held accountable to their lies. Enough with defending corporate deception, non-transparency and bumbling of their product. Where's your consumer self-respect?
3 -
THIS
0 -
Because this game has been going since 2016 and they haven't advanced as far as they should have
0 -
Honestly, if the devs would just focus on updating the old maps, then that would go a long way in fixing the game's core issues.
0 -
Buddy, the dedicated servers are broken, implementing the current state of them would be the worst decision and people will just stop playing the game.
6 -
Buddy there's tons of bugs and errors still in this game and people still play it. Dealing with ######### servers until they can balance it isn't bad idea considering other games done it.
1 -
On what planet is knowingly introducing game breaking bugs because other, MUCH larger, companies have done it in the past a good business decision?
8 -
It's not about single bug issues, the Dedicated Servers in PTB testing were next to impossible with ranged killers and caused problems for M1 killers as well - why introduce that to the game before it's ready? It makes absolutely no sense to do so.
It was never promised to be summer, it was hoped to be and planned to be - but these things happen and as such have been delayed until a time when they are fully operational and fair to both sides.
8 -
Game breaking? No. Tell me how would Servers which is it's own separate entity have any direct effects on the Game itself. It might have lag and what not but sudden bugs like the ones the devs supposedly fix like healing bug, dead hard bug, pallet bug, etc. Come on now do you want a game that is good or bad?
0 -
Why do you want a game to be worse? There is no guarantee that forcing unfinished servers will fix those problems.
Also the devs listed several problems they were having in the link above.
0 -
They had a year and a half to fix this ######### bro
0 -
You didn't answer why you wanted to add more problems. This is EXACTLY why things get pushed back. To fix issues.
2 -
I'd rather wait a few more months for dedicated servers to come out in working order, than demand them to come out early and break the game...
You're not being reasonable here, dedicated servers will come, if all deadlines in the world were met, the world would be perfect. But some things don't come on time, and the world isn't perfect my friend...
I don't blame you for questioning the way stuff works when it comes to updates and fixes here, but I wouldn't just outright demand it to happen when it clearly won't...
3 -
A rushed out, buggy set of servers will stay in a lot of players' minds as buggy forever. A delayed set of servers will eventually be good.
2 -
And yet if they hadn't announced the fact that they were working on it, instead of complaining that the servers aren't ready yet, right now people would be complaining about the fact that the devs (seemingly) aren't even considering it.
As long as people continue to assume that there's nothing going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, they will always find something to complain about.
0 -
You're absolutely right. Unfortunately people have a tendency to forget that as players, while we can comment on the game in its current state, not being privvy to what's actually going on behind the scenes we have no grounds whatsoever for commenting on what the devs are or are not doing or intending to do.
Everyone always has something to complain about, and the developers are an easy scapegoat to pin the blame on for any bad experiences people have in the game. I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying the game and I hope you continue to do so. Most people don't know what they're talking about nearly so much as they pretend to, so don't let the negativity on the forums put you off 😊
