An idea for making the Trapper better.

Me and my brother were watching someone play Trapper earlier, and started coming up with ideas on how to make him better. Something that has always always bothered us is how he's called "The Trapper" but all he has are bear traps. At some point I suggested a type of wall trap that would shoot throwing knives at passing survivors. This sparked an ifea from my brother: a spike trap.

What if the Trapper had spike strips that he could put in windows, that injure survivoes that vault the window? That way he wouldn't have to place beartraps at windows, and isn't stuck with just bear traps.

Where does he get them and how many can he have: He would start off with more spike strips than beartraps, and each time he picked up a new bear trap, he would also pick up another spike strip.

We'd like to hear other peoples opinions about this. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated.

    The only thing he needs is trapper bag built into he's basekit

    Trapper bag to base kit, maybe honing stone to make traps actually put survuvors into dying. That'd make him Freddy-tier.

    Make trapper bag base kit and let him start with traps set or a less powerful version of Iridescent Stone (one trap self-setting every 60 seconds).

    Sabotage needs to go by by. Not disarm, just Sabotage.

    His red add ons need a buff, and some of his useless add ons need a rework.

    He also needs to be notified when survivors start disarming his trap with a 3 second aura reveal.

    And then he needs to start with 3 traps with no cap to how many he can pick up.

    This whole thread is how to make Trapper broken and hard to play against. Oh boy I'm glad none of you are developers otherwise this game would be in a bigger shithole than it already is.

    Without any problem he can start with all of his Traps and Extra Traps for the Bag Add-Ons (1, 2 and 3 for the respective Bag).

    This would remove the time he has to travel the Map to actually have a power. It will also give him use to ALL of his Traps, if Traps spawn on the other side of Suffocation Pit or Resting Place, it can be problematic to get them.

    Having all Traps helps with planning a lot more and also it would remove the early knowledge which Killer it is.

    They're just ideas, I'm sure loads of game devs makes tons of bad ideas and then after being able to put more time and resources into said ideas they realise they won't work.

    Bad ideas at this point. A built in honed stone? Spike Traps? Iridescent Stone built in?

    Can you explain what makes it a bad idea? What's the difference between a bear trap at a window, and a spike trap in the window? They both stop the survivor from using it.

    It would work as a trapper rework, if he had multiple types of traps to choose from. (Tf2 engineer for example).

    • You have 8 beartraps and 100 "resource" which you can use to
    • Place wire traps which create a loud noise and trip sirvivors (ministun similiar to failed skillchecks
    • Nail window frames for slowdown or damage
    • Place down small barricades (can be broken)
    • "Resource can be found lying around or in chests

    Or something like that.

    Its simply just unlikely to happen as it is a rework instead a buff/nerf.

    Edit: though it'd be finny to see the killers getting the "overwatch"-treatment for mulitple abilities.
