Why not let it start off as a dull totem, and only become lit after first hook?

    Or if killer is running at least one HEX perk give him possibility to "shuffle" hexes (they would switch the totem for random dull totem). That way, if killer knows that his hex is exposed, he could do something about it.

    Make it be active once per game so they would not just spam it at the beginning to get best possible placements for hexes.
