Thoughts about egc.
Im not sure how i feel about it, I get why it's there. To avoid those bs hatch standoffs. But like, the time seems weird to me. It almost seems to come to halt when someones down anyways so it still drags out. Ive personally never died to egc except once to show my girlfriend how cool it looks. Never seen it happen to anyone else either except maybe twice but it was like some rank 20 gameplay so idk. Plus unless you have blood warden , get the ridiculously common close spawning exit gates, close a hatch someone opened before the gates, as killer you dont get jack from it , and as a survivor it generally means you won.
Im not saying its bad or good. Just one those things im curious to see how others would think of changing it

In my experience, most of the time the egc happens the killer wins. At least in 1v1 scenarios, or 2v1
In a 4v1, yeah... the killer probably takes the L

EGC is built to force survivors to escape because they have no objectives. A downed or hooked survivor, however, creates an objective, so the timer is slowed a lot to give survivors a chance to save their friend.

Dang. I swear thats rare to me but every experience ia different i suppose

I get that, its just that I see this happen a lot. :A survivor gets down, timer slows drastically. People end up trading downs keeping the timer slow. After a while either someone dies on hook and everyone leave or they all make it anyways. With bountiful time to spare.
Again, not to piss anyone off. Im not complaining. Im just curious if there's a different way to go about it.

Half the time is still too common.
Killers closing hatch is fine, as long as gates spawn decently away. Even in a 1v1 if you hide by the gate and wait for the killer to patrol you almost always have enough time to open it.
Its my fault what?

I personally like the collapse. It's really dramatic, like a dire situation in which the world is collapsing around you, making the final moments a desperate escape. The remaining survivors must scramble to get out, saving who they can or leaving them on a hook.
It's also really important because otherwise the game could drag on. For some reason survivors like to make the killer DC and will do so by just hiding at the end. Lately, there seems to be a new fad where a team will join into a game and see how long they can last hiding and circling the map to avoid crows. I don't understand this. It's a waste of time and really frustrating for the killer. So not only is the EGC important, but there needs to be a timer or some other method in which the killer can choose to start the collapse under other conditions to prevent an entire team of survivors from taking the game hostage.

Oh i love it too. It looks fantastic. The first time I saw it i got mad goosebumps.
Well unfortunately egc wouldnt come into play if there is no endgame so I dont know what to tell you about the survivors doing that. Its scum though for sure

I think the mechanic is fine, and way better than the old hatch stalemates from before. I usually accept that I’m probably not going to win if I’m the last Survivor up and the Killer closes the hatch.

EGC is very enjoyable, I'm glad they added it. I play a bit of Survivor but I'm a Killer main at the end of the day so maybe I'm a bit biased as it does seem to favor Killer most of the time, in my experience.
Primarily no more Hatch Standoffs and no more dragging the game longer than it needs to. EGC just looks cool, adds tension, and just fits overall in the game. Glad its here and hope it stays.

Yeah, that's how it should be.
