Dying Light is abysmal
This perk sounds great on paper, but it doesn't do much of anything 80% of the time against a solid team on a bad map. At the start when ruin would be in effect dying light is doing nothing, you find a guy and you hook him (hopefully not the obsession) and you get 3% debuff, first gen gets popped because 3% is nothing. You find another guy and you eventually down him and they get a whopping 6% debuff, and another gen is about to go off because you thought dying light had the chance to take over for ruin.
Even if you do good, let's say there's 4 people alive and you have 5/6 stacks, dying light is killing Thanatophobia because it gives the obsession gets much faster healing so that bonus goes down the drain a lot, and oh boy you found the obsession but he has an ace up his sleeve!?!? He alt-F4's out of the match first down and your super awesome dying light bonus is completely gone and everyone's speed is back to normal, unlike a much better ignore the obsession perk (STBFL). Not to mention if he DC's on first down because you made the grave mistake of downing him the perk does nothing again (this happens a lot especially playing the super op killer Legion).
Maybe I'm just a negative person but this perk is about useless as it normally is, Sorry guys.

Sure, especially for weaker perks. But a lot of good perks most people run usually always have an effect or come into play like Stbfl, Ruin, Enduring, Bbq, whispers, sloppy, and a lot more. Dying light does neither, by the time it's good the game is usually over.

I've rather liked it. Granted, only ran it 3 matches on Trapper. I combined it with Thanataphobia, Chili, and Monitor. Took the traps that cause extra bleeding and it was a slaughter. Got to around 4 stacks and the trapfest started. They were unable to get gens done fast. I think I'll mix it with PGW, since goal is lots of hooks, it should work well with that.

Glad you had success with it, I ran it on Legion with thana, pop, and sloppy. Sure it slowed them down a little but early game it doesn't do anything, maybe I just got unlucky with the people who were obsession just dc'd every time I downed them.

To be fair, that is a pretty notable thing to leave out :P

That's true lol, but that is a part of it. The obsession on a whim can leave and completely remove your perk, with stbfl you at least keep the stacks you already got.

It doesn't sound good on paper if you read carefully. This perk is hot garbage and it tends to hurt you in every way.

@Peanits An important thing, I think the game is crashing me by wearing dying light, do the team know?

Honestly, it may work better for killers that snowball the game. Killers like Trapper and Shape who start off weak, but gain strength as it goes on (Only if the Trapper was able to set a side of the map with traps).

I gotta agree with that, when I ran it every time I hooked a Meg I would crash.

Try It on plague with thanato save the best for last and ruin. Have fun :)

It feel useless unless you have to combine Thana/Sloppy or use Plague
Why can't perk alone itself can be useful?
Why need keep obsession alive while they have free buff?
"If obsession is alive" thing should be remove and keep the token and stop earning/losing when obsession is dead

You're thinking into this too much. It's garbage because not only is the Obsession the safest player in the match when running Dying Light, he is unaffected by the Dying Light debuff and has a 33% bonus to healing and unhooking... because reasons?
Hell, that even sounds ######### for the survivor. How boring it must be knowing that you're going to spend most of the match holding M1 on generators uncontested and get free unhooks.
Seriously, why tf does the Obsession get extra bonuses if the very premise of the perk is that the obsession is safe until he is the last survivor? That in itself is well enough of a "bonus".
This perk never sounded "good on paper".

I would like to see just one quality of life change to this perk, that you can keep some of the tokens when the obsession dies. That way it still works with its' name.

I think that'd be a decent change. Make it so it works similarly to Save the Best for Last, where you can keep tokens you have, but you can't gain any more.

It's just normal experience for killer. Nothing is really going to help you against Genrushing. I mean, I know that people say, apply map pressure, but like for example, I was playing Myers with Infectious fright, Monitor, Knock out with dead rabbit+J.Myers memorial which is a build oriented around slugging people with single evil within 3, then you random a map like Red Forest and your like, how exactly are suppose pressure a massively sized map. Dying light was suppose to be a perk that rewards the killer playing well by landing multiple hooks consecutively. however it has too many conditions/drawbacks like giving free botany knowledge and losing all tokens when Obsession is dead/dc/rage quit. anyhow, they need fix crashing before anyone can draw conclusions from the perk.

Dying Light did not even sound good on paper. Old DL: 25% action speed penalty after 3 hooks or 1 hook + mori. New DL: 24% penalty after 8 hooks.
This perk just received a major nerf (and it doesn't encourage to tunnel the Obsession anymore). That's it.

Swap STBFL with Pop Goes the Weasel. That’s my setup with Plague and it works WONDERS at “slowing the game down..........just a lil’ bit.” (God I miss when Monto used to say that.)
