Honestly yes to a degree. Anyone can rank up easily, but I was obviously meaning the gray ranks in his games. This OP is having fun using ebony's on low ranking newer players. Things like that are what deter newer people from continuing the game.

Oh, wow, even less impressive now that you say that. It's hysterical because when I see 4 escapes and we somehow get paired with low rank killers, I feel bad. I mean, it's nice to get the 5k extra points plus some, but this game needs more players, and super toxic gameplay that leads to all survivors having the same outcome is not going to lead to new players sticking around.

While I personally think this is funny, it does highlight one of the bigger problems of DBD.
It's not just matchmaking by rank, but the fact that the current ranking system doesn't take player skill into account. This rank 13 person has played for enough hours to gain Devotion level 7.
If the devs want the new people they gain from the stranger things dlc to actually stay, they need to place fixing the matchmaking and ranking systems as a higher priority.
@Peanits When can we expect to hear more information about these issues and the possibility of individual killer ranks that was alluded to during the anniversary?

Next year. Its actually on the roadmap its placed after the next Chapter. So mid chapter 14 in roughly February but it extends to march and later on the map so idk.

If survivors are doing really poorly in a match, I'll often pull back as killer, be a little less aggressive, otherwise survivors die on their first hook and no one has any fun, including me. I don't see what's fun about demolishing players who obviously have no idea what they're doing.
All this does is highlight that matchmaking needs to be fixed. Like, now. The Stranger Things DLC just brought in a ton of new players, and they're getting miserable experiences because not only does this game throw players of all ranks together, but it doesn't take number of hours played into consideration. Someone with a devotion level, no matter their killer/survivor rank, should not be grouped with absolute newbies. Players who are new to the game should learn the basics together, not get grouped with players who already know what they're doing.

Play against Us (red rank players) instead of destroying potatoes. Easy to destroy their experience i just wish that a sweaty SwF t-bag you all game and do gen in 2min.

I reset from seven to 13 as killer, rank 1 resets you to rank 10 (fact).

This is literally a fact, that Rank 1 will reset you to rank 10 with 2 bonus pips...

This story still doesn’t make full sense, in your first screenshot, you’re rank 15. If you haven’t played since reset (until today) then you’d still be facing noobs and moris won’t de-pip you at those ranks so how’d you de-pip?

I'm like 100% sure you think you were Rank 1 during the reset, but in reality you were Rank 3, 4, or 5 and just don't want us to know that...
There's no way that your rank magically went past 10 and 11 and landed on 12 when it reset at Rank 1, no way...

I’m not 100% sure here but I don’t think seven can put you at 12, possibly with enough pips but op said they got de-ranked to 14.

So if 7 deranks you to 12, than most likely 8-9 brings you to 14, it might even be 10 to 14 honestly.

I asked my friends (who also play red rank) one of them was reset to 12 and the other to 11. I’m not sure what happened to mine, I’m really not surprised though. I’ve been around long enough to see just about every bug this game has to offer.

It could be a bug, who knows. Its just highly doubtful because a bug like this was never reported at the start of the ranking system, and till now.
The list Gorgonia posted is how it usually works for rank reset.

At lvl64 he was rank 1. At lvl 72, rank 15, at lvl76, rank 13. You need around 4 to 5 games to level. And a pip per match means a one level = one rank. He took 4 levels to go up by two ranks. Say you have some good or bad games, it could be possible.
Now, he was lvl64 and rank 1 and 8 levels later (lvl72) he was rank 11/12 (15 after reset). That’s clearly deranking. Toxic people usually derank the last couple of days before reset to be a-holes towards low levels, or new people in this case. His screenshots clearly prove he deranked to abuse less experienced players.

The fact that you kept leveling by playing survivor makes the case even worse and the deranking even sharper. Had you not played killer... how did you go from rank 1 to 11/12 to then be reset to 15? Either make up your mind and come up with a better story or admit you’re a toxic deranker. The fact that you bring ebony mori as a rank 15 killer is proof enough anyway

This is why I enjoy being at these ranks, so when I find you in one of my games as killer. I don't need to feel so bad about being toxic with flashlights, tea bagging you, and looping you for an entire game. :)
