Ormond is survivor sided. change my mind
• The map is incredibly large
• Safe pallets and jungle gyms as far as the eye can see
• Exit gates are decently far apart most of the time.

@DudeDelicious hahahaha yeah I completely agree with you

Honestly I don't know
I haven't looked too deep into it's design
Still, Haddonfield is the worst

The generator in the lodge can be risky due to it being central, the lodge having various entrances and the progress of the gen can be heard as the killer patrols the exterior. It's perhaps the trickest gen.

Yeah, it is. That's that new loop type it was introduced in Ormond that is very strong, the main building it super strong. At least they fixed the auras...
1 -
It really is. one of my fave maps to play as survivor. Also the central building is easy to BL.

i don’t know if it’s just me, but the map for me actually feels really small.
1 -
It is very survivor sided, I agree with @DudeDelicious it is more or less as bad as yamaoka

*looks to the crowd
"Anyone disagrees?"
...
"Nope... no one" XD

Add to that the aura reading is still terrible, very hard to spot my ruin at the start of the game, only to find it spawned on the other side of the map, in the open, near survivors. Gone in 30 seconds.

I don't think someone is gonna disagree with you 😂.

All those paths to enter the building makes it so the Killer can come from anywhere, but it also make it so the Survivor can leave anywhere. As long as you don't ignore the terror radius you should never be caught out on the gen as you always have an escape route. Letting you have a choice of to loop the building itself, or run to another loop right outside in any direction.
It's comparable to Rotten Fields to how open and how many paths that building has. Once someone starts running, it's impossible to predict where they will go outside of blind luck.

Well… I am actually very successful on this map as a Legion, usually getting 3k even in red ranks, unless I'm not warmed up.

It's annoying to be playing a stealthy or trap killer on the map since it has huge line of sight openings
And the fact everything is white means not even a Tar Bottle trap can hide anywhere but the grass and some parts of the house

Scratches and aura can be difficult to track on Ornmund on top of it having a lot of safe zones for survivors. Though, with Ghostface, I do quite well. There are so many places to get your stalk on and be a sneaky boi
Similar with Rotten Fields. Stalking can be hard due to all the corn but it's easy sneaking up on people.

It's definitely easy to juke on Ormond. The gyms are special and easier to juke with and the central building affords many of juke opportunties as well.

Yamaoka, Haddon and New Map is worst
Yeah, i know new map has less safe loop but there's so many pallets that I getting feel sick every time i get stun and my camera wobble around for every minute

New map compliments all benefits of enduring. Plus It's easier to force drops without actually trying to swing, and many of those turn into a small game when surv vaults back and forth until gets hit or killer misses.
And I'm as a fan of low profile and jump scaring killers, like yamaoka as well (just as backwater swamp).

If I see ormund, Haddonfield, or swamp playing as killer I’m aggravated. Im honestly surprised that more killers don’t like Yamaoka. It’s one of my favorites because it’s so small and open. Sooooo many unsafe pallets
0 -
Cant disagree there lol. Also sucks because almost every loop is chained together with other loops right next to it.

Yamaoka is a maze since everything looks the same besides its only "small" with mobile killers. Someone like doctor or myers has to trudge along forever to check on gens.

Start using whispers and TT, I promise you will fall in love with ormund.

the map is terrible for both sides in my opinion

Survivor sided. The way it's mapped, there's almost always either the central building or a jungle gym within running distance, meaning you can't catch a survivor out of position without wasting time prior getting them to drop pallets. Given the size of the map, though, it's unlikely they ever run out of them...

Change your mind? Heck, I'll double down on your statement. When I play killer, it's one of those maps where I tend to struggle (just like yamaoka's estate as someone pointed out earlier). I always seem to be on the defensive and rarely get a good amount of map pressure. Now as a survivor, I tend to do quite well on that map.. lol

Not as bad as maps like Infinite of Misery, but I agree.
1 -
Its one of those maps on killer that im happy to get.
Its not BS like autohaven where survs get infinite loops around every pallet on the map every 5 steps that they can see over.
Its not BS like hadnofun with infinite dropdowns and inf loops
Its not BS like MM Estate with bullshit buildings to run around
Its not BS like Yamaoka with a ######### ton of survivor camouflage around the map
This map has loops that are not so bad, the building which isnt so bad, and a shack that nobody goes to.

I surprisingly find Yamaoka a hard map.
And I am a Stealth Survivor.
Killers all seem to know how to find me on this map.
1 -
I hate Ormond to the bone as killer, because scratchmarks are so hard to see there.
1 -
So you're saying it's the opposite of the Gideon Meat Packing Plant?
0 -
That's funny because I have the same problem. I'm a stealthy survivor with great games on Coldwind Farm but terrible in Yamaoka
0 -
Ormond sucks with tracking and auras. If you could see scratch marks through grass Yamaoka's would be better. Haddonfield just needs a complete rework. Hawkins has those rooms with 2-3 pallets and those catwalks.

I mean it's fun with Hillbilly but I don't disagree either.

It's really bad. Maybe my least favorite map outside of Purgation. I think they need to get away from the "uber safe building with 0 counterplay pallets surrounded by safe loops" philosophy. You can have the building, but don't put it smack dab in the middle of the map so everyone can always run to it.
1 -
I 100% agree with this. As soon a you start a chase they immediately B line to the main building
0 -
I knew that map was bad news since the PTB.
0 -
It's like that on any map with a god window in the middle. It's a huge design flaw. You that on Ironworks, Ormond, Red Forest, Grim Pantry, etc. I take Bamboozle on most M1 killers now because of it.
