What s the point of going for higher ranks?

In 45 minutes i played 1 game and got in 1 lobby meanwhile i could stay around rank 10-12 and play atleast twice as much .

I stay in 8 - 12 range on both sides. Why go to red ranks? You are rewarded with longer lobby times and sweaty try hards. Not worth it

In this game, there isn't a point. Matter of fact, it benefits your sanity and playtime more to not go into red ranks.

For me, the only appeal of higher ranks is that it means I can now abandon any care of actually winning. Once the sweat factor gets too high, it's time for me to experiment with builds, level new killers, etc.

I'll usually get a bunch of "rip" and "gg ez" messages from survivors when I fail to make a dent in their gen rush, usually paired with them all waiting in a teabagging line at the exit gates for me, but I don't really care. If it makes them feel big to dump on a level 5 Plague with 2 perks and 0 teachables, that's their business.

It doesn't take too many games of this before I can return to ranks where I don't have to worry about running a perfectly optimized build that's 100% meta on one of the 3 approved killers.

Rank is just a personal monthly goal and a way to make the grind feel less grindy, it's just something to work towards while playing if you wish too.

It really doesn't serve much else. It was also to help with matchmaking originally but players can too easily chose where they want to play so that point is mute.

For survivor you get to play with better survivors, which makes a huge difference. To adequately simulate this, stay away from the game for a few months, you will eventually be reset to brown ranks. So you start working on a gen, get found by the killer, doesn't matter how good you are, you will be downed eventually. When you see your teammates they are either hiding in bushes on the periphery on the map or not visible because they are hiding in lockers.

For Killer, there is no benefit to ranking up. You will just run into more toxic SWF groups.

Aside from the achievement. I see none. If there was a casual mode thats where id play most if not all the time. But there isnt so instead I have to balance how much I want to climb at times because I for one prefer to find games in a fairly decent amount of time and to not always feel like i have to try extra hard to get at least 1k. And I also enjoy being able to play the killers I want as opposed to the few who dont get stomped outright at higher ranks unless i have optimal perks.

True, I wait for 10 minutes and then I receive an error advising I cannot connect to the host, and then the menu glitches, so I cant retry, I must click on the blood tab, then store, and then ready to wait on queue for another 10 minutes
