The Spirit is Not OP
I've seen this SO much lately, people saying that spirit needs a nerf to her ability. She doesn't, actually.
EDIT: The only thing I agree with is that prayer beads needs to be changed to pink rarity [or reworked]. Otherwise, she is fine.
Spirit is a different killer than the rest, and people don't like that. Survivors want to be able to escape 100% of the time, which is not realistic. Nerfing a killer because she's not easy to counter is quite childish imo.
Spirit has a visual queue for when she is phasing. Her hair stands up. She has a kind of idle animation for standing still, and when she phases the animation resets and the hair stands up quickly. Some also say that the glass on her body gets shiny. If you pay attention, you'll know when she is phasing.
The best counters to spirit are Iron Will and being immersed. If you hear her phasing, get off your gen so she cant grab you. If you're in her TR, wait until she's gone before working on the gen unless she's in chase.
Her mindgaming isn't as easy as people think. It doesn't work a lot of the time and survivors just get away because i've wasted time standing there, hoping they mess up and walk towards me. If you're being chased by a spirit, DO NOT stop at a pallet to heal yourself. She can phase around it and hit you. Just keep running until she's got you or you've lost her. Unless she wants to tunnel you, just loop her until she gets mad and leaves.
If she's phasing right in front of you, walk. Take a sharp turn and walk in another direction, behind cover if you can find some.
You can call me a whiny killer main if you want, but please try to learn before giving up and wanting to take the easy way out by calling for a nerf.

I don't think she is op, and I don't think that's the problem for many people. The problem is that the counterplay against her is practically 100% luck based, cause you are just guessing where exactly she will reappear. There's no visual feedback for survivors to try and mindgame her by reacting accordingly to the visual feedback they get. It's just guessing where Spirit will be when she has finished phasing.

They didn't release win %for her so that should say something... plus win % is botched in so many ways..... from suicideing, DC, stupid play etc.... most stats cant be trusted.

Changing the rarity of an add-on doesn't really matter when players have stockpiles of them already. Prayer Beads deserve a proper re-balancing.
I would like to see collision removed while phasing as well. The Spirit should have to rely on sight and sound while phasing, not bumping into a survivor out of dumb luck.
Outside of that, I'd agree she's not OP, but she's regarded as the 2nd/3rd best killer in the game for a reason.

Making prayer beads ultra rare is not a solution, just rework it entirely. There is literally no counter play to prayer beads except spine chill.
You shouldn't need a specific perk to have a chance against one killer. Literally every match I have against a good spirit (red ranks), everyone just dies immediately. Each chase lasts 20 seconds. That's not enjoyable to me at all.

Prayer beads are overhyped. People need to understand that they only work when you get the inital jump on a survivor. During a chase it's a useless addon because the whooshing sound doesnt play to begin with inside her TR.

You can grab survivors on gens and they have no chance to see you coming if they don't have spine chill. How is that overhyped?

I like the Spirit, especially when she bumps in to me. It's a blast, it's funny! It's like....."oh...hi." Spirit:"Wah!" I do have trouble mind gaming her, but that's her design is.

You can see grass moving and her footsteps if you really listen. And as a Spirit main, whenevr I run Prayer Beads, I'm usually only able to get one gen grab off and thats in the start of a match. After that I'm either constantly in chases or survivors are cautious enough.
And survivors have no problem not being able to tell where Spirit is in a chase, but all of a sudden they do care when not in a chase?

Changing PB to pink rarity will only make it worse. The are 3 pink items a killer can get in their blood web... 2 add-ons and ebony mori. Maybe more if splinters are available. Maybe less depending on the killer.
There are 8 purple options in the blood web aside from perks. Oak, fog, coin, ward, and the killer's 4 purple add-ons.
So you make it from a 1/8 chance of getting on per web to a 1/3, and after p3 50 every web has at least 1 pink item. It will be easier to get them.
Instead we need to add some drawback to Prayer Beads. Currently there is a "bug" where you can hear the Spirit's footsteps. I think this should be fixed, BUT for PB it should be the drawback. Make the range something like 6m, this way you can't get free gens grabs on survivors that pay attention. You could still definitely get the free hit though.

I get that you like spirit and all but people wanting balance changes (in their eyes anyway) aren’t necessarily an X main and both sides voice their opinions on topics they feel need changed, if you disagree then you can always give a constructive reason as to why you disagree.

Father's Glasses are actually very powerful because it hard counters Iron Will since you can't hide blood while injured.
That said it does need something more to make it worth the rarity.
Prayer Beads are fine except that they basically give you free gen grabs. If that wasn't a thing then PB wouldn't be so damn OP. When I used PB I tend to go for hits instead of grabs because grabs are super lame and easy.
Changing collision won't have the results you will expect. It just opens a new set of options for Spirit. Not to mention that good Spirit's will body block you on purpose. I will get ahead of someone to block a pallet/window.

Hmm, thats not a half bad idea. Althoug much like Wraiths Bone Clapper or whatever its called and Freddys Class Photo, survivors would catch on quickly.

The thing I have a problem with is if your not playing the big 3 or Freddy you have a better chance of getting bullied and no one complains but when you start using the top 3 people cry for nerfs

Agreed, the one's who say she is OP are probably the same ones refusing to adapt play style. With spirit, and most other killers, running/leaving scratch marks is the number one reason we find you. Whether they are stumbled apon after spooking a survivor out of a hiding spot they probably would have been safe in, or seeing them from across the map.
The best part is, you don't even need a perk to not run, it's just a matter of not doing it allllllllll the time.
Spirit burns cocky and aggressive survivors, and naturally they will cry the loudest after a "loss"

She isn't op but she could use some slight tweaks that would make it possible for survivor counterplay. Currently, as a survivor, you can not know at all where she is during phasing and it's just a blind guess where she'll be so the chase is entirely within her hands.
In addition to this without iron will it is near impossible to hide your location to her when you're injured.

Most of the time if you aren't spirit or nurse the chase is in the hands of survivors and where they kite you in the abundance of safe pallet loops and godly rng window set ups.

literally iron will can counter her so hard like imagine one survivor perk can counter whole killer but they will still come crying on forums because they dont have slot for iron will because where would their adren bt ds and dh meta go? I have made many good spirits go chase someone else because they were not able to catch me I know how both sides work bcz I play both sides spirit is fun to go against whining on forums wont help its better to git gud

I would say a Spirit using strong add ons is overbearing.
Unless someone can show me a comprehensive counter guide, I'll maintain my position that she is somewhat overpowered.

Spirit's only "strong" addons are beads and maybe the purple talisman addon. Otherwise, it depends on how the killer plays. I would make a guide but I can't make youtube videos and I can't properly explain by typing

Ofcourse if u run like a chicken u can hear footsteps iron will creates a huge room for mindgames and spirit suffers from a huge cooldown if u mess up ur power

You can still hear footsteps of walking survivors. I run iron will and it isn’t as great against her as you say.

@lynelmane Nope, a number of her green and purple add ons are too extreme. They greatly reduce a survivor's counter play.
It becomes noticeably harder to juke a Spirit when she has a faster phase walk (there are other good add ons besides a faster phase walk btw).

I didn't say the rest were bad. The only addons that are guaranteed to make the killer unfun to play against are the ones I said before. The rest do help but again, it depends on how the killer plays and puts the rest of the addons to use.

Never said she needed a nerf, I think she is balanced but doesn’t have hardly any counter play, you primarily have to guess at a pallet/pretend to go to it but walk away. Strong windows work too but we don’t want those to be common enough to be true counter play.

Yeah, lots of people who have iron will keep on running or walking making it easier to track them while phasing. Or go towards somewhere obvious like a pallet or window. Sometimes it's best to find somewhere to remain still. It's also important to keep in mind the map and what you're walking though. Grass/corn makes more sound and moves. While moving around in Mother's Den (Huntress's map) you make wet sloshing sounds which is very easy to hear
If we are mentioning perks, fixated can help greatly against Spirit. It increases walk speed and lets you see your own scratches making it easier to play around with scratch marks then walk away.

I am a solo player and I often come across a spirit in games. Why should I constantly endure a broken killer due to the fact that somewhere out there someone is playing SWF? Solo survivors is this second grade?

I don't know where and who you're reading from, but I've never heard "Nerf Spirit base kit" in my entire time on the forums and in-game. I've heard "nerf prayer beads" and I agree with it.

It's not exactly her base kit that needs a nerf in other people's opinions. I've just seen a lot that people say she needs a visual queue of when shes phasing or they complain how you dont know where she is when she's phasing.
I personally only use prayer beads when streamers enter my lobby, otherwise I don't use them cause it feels like a cheap win to me.

the point the spirit is she is different than the other killers, and you need to adapt to her ability accordingly. the best counter is to not be where she last saw you, because that's how spirit players get you. if you stand at a pallet and heal, thinking she's fake mindgaming you, you're going to get hit.
if you run in a straight line, you're going to get hit. you can't use the same tactics against spirit as you can with other killers. it adds more diversity in skill-requirement to the game.

Thats not how it works, but ok. You cannot counteract Spirit cause you dont have any clue what Spirit does. Thats why Spirit is not fair. Its like a complete invisible wraith. Nothing that should be in the game.

But she can't see you or your blood while phasing, so it's not the same as a completely invisible wraith.
If you don't like playing against spirit, DC and move on.

You can hear their footsteps, their breath, pain noises and you can bump into them. Thats enough of information to land hits. Thats why its said that a good Spirit only needs a good headset and no skill.
Dcing isnt a solution. Devs need to balance her, thats what needs to be done SOON.

I just want her to not bump into me while phasing. she's on a different plane, she shouldn't be able to interact with me while she's on that different plane unless she leaves it via attacking or running out of her power.
