Trapper Improvements

Trapper has potential to be at least mid tier if he acquired some mild buffs, nothing too crazy.

At the moment he’s the only killer that needs to walk around and pick up his power, and put it down again for it to be useful.

Not only that but his power can be disarmed and straight up removed from the game for minutes at a time by sabotage, as long as the survivor has a working set of eyes and double digit IQ.


He’s also the only killer who can be hindered by his own power (besides legion) if he steps in his own traps. Survivors can squeeze through gaps that he can’t and get away if the trap wasn’t placed correctly, because that same trap would stop the trapper.

Plus sometimes the traps auras won’t pop up until you’ve walked into them, a easy mistake to make after the match has continued for a while.


Anyways, my buff ideas are pretty simple:


  • Basekit carries at least 3 traps and starts with two.
  • Survivors tampering with traps is fine, but it shouldn’t be a 2 second task.
  • Survivors should need to perform skill checks to escape from traps, not just RNJesus
  • Trapper should be able to walk over his own traps unhindered.
