Survivors should have different traits that make them better.
So like the survivors are all the same and can get every perk on 1 survivor to stick with it, but killers have different powers. survivors should get different traits to them that makes them unique.
Dwight - Increases good skill checks by 50% and great skill checks by 25% when repairing.
Meg - 5% increased movement speed and can recover from exhaustion 50% the normal rate.
Claudette - 10% increase to altruism speed.
Jake - Quieter breathing and 15% increase sabotage speed.
Nea - Scratch marks disappear 2 by 2 seconds (up to 4 cause lightweight)
Ace - Better chance at getting better items from chests considerably
Bill - 15% recovery speed when downed
Feng - 10% bonus when alone
David - 20% increased speed to Boldness
Laurie - Killers terror radius is increased by 8 meters for you.
Quentin - 10% increased action speed when all the generators are powered
Detective David - 5% increase speed when on a generator
Kate - 10% increased speed when somebody is near
Adam - 10% increased efficiency in items
Jeff - killers aura reading is decreased by 8 meters towards him.
Jane - Stuns she causes the killer recovers 10% slower
Ash - You can take protection hits within 8 meters of a survivor while uninjured.
Steve - Gain 200% more points for protection hits
Nancy - You can see a killers scratch marks.
Some of these feel like perks, but I had nothing better to put. Just the concept.

This gets suggested on a regular basis.
Bottom line: Some effects are stronger than others, so people would tend to play only a few survivors, which would lead to less variety in the lobbies.

I think what I'd rather see is something to make the survivors feel different from each other without creating a survivor meta.
Like if each survivor had a different way of running or made different facial expressions when working on a gen. something like that.

That would be cool! But I'm afraid it's probably too much work since there are a lot of important issues the devs have to take care of.

That to me isn't so much of a problem as long as they are reasonably balanced to each other.
The real problem IMO is that it is impossible to do this now without pissing off people who dedicated all their resources to one Survivor only to find that their Survivor of choice got an ability they don't like.

That's another problem, you are right.
(I still think my argument is valid as well. Running speed & gen repair speed are more important than other traits like sabotage speed or luck at chests.)

I mean, you're definitely right. Stuff like OP's idea for Meg or Adam would be ridiculous. They'd have to be either more minor abilities or situational/gimmicky things.
