A question about the matchmaking "fix"
So I'm going to be polite as I can here...
Let me see if I'm understanding the logic that went into this fix for matchmaking. Purple ranked and red ranked survivors grouped up and were getting brown ranked killers so the decided fix to this was to make it so that when brown and red ranked survivors grouped up that the brown rank is now forced to face off against a red ranked killer.
How exactly does this fix the issue that was being presented?

one extreme over another is really all it is. Hopefully these low rank survivors don’t end up quitting the game.

Let's think about this rationally.
Two matches, one before the change and one after.
Before, you could have 2 red rank, a yellow rank, and a brown rank against a brown rank killer. The red ranks loop the brown rank for all eternity, and the brown and yellow do gens.
Makes for a pretty boring match for all but the red who distracts.
Now, post change. 3 reds and a yellow against a red ranked killer.
4/5 people in the match have a great time. The yellow gets to hone their skills, and at least isn't too bored.
Edit: The low ranks also have a choice to not do SWF until they get better. The killer doesn't have that choice.

That's fair and all but the underlying issue of most recent was the bug that allowed purple and red ranks grouped up to get a brown rank. How is forcing the brown rank that is now grouped up with the red rank buddy to see if they like the game to take on a red ranked killer fair?

Old: A red, 2 purples, and a yellow swf queue for a lobby. Killer is yellow.
New: A red, 2 purples, and a yellow swf queue for a lobby. Killer is red (or purple if no red killers)
Old: team of 4 survivors with some skilled enough to hit red and purple vs a killer who expects to face survivors around their own rank.
New: lower rank survivor knowing that match making will provide a high rank killer joins a swf of high rank players.

Would be strange to quit over something that is easily avoided and essentially opt-in.
You could just play with friends at your rank, solo or ask your rank 1 buddy to play on an alt.

Yes... because I want to shell out $20 more plus DLC all over to play with my friends that just started...
I'm not looking to take on low ranked people as a high rank. I understand the concept behind this.
My issue is that the bug itself seems to have been seemingly been ignored (interpretation not potentially the actual decision) and rather than fix the issue, we are now forced to deal with the exact opposite extreme of what the bug was issuing before making it seem to be the players-of-the-game's fault and not the bug itself.

I'd say more that the devs decided to fix a big issue with SWF while also dealing with the bug in the process.

Because the low rank has the choice to play SWF or not.
