I found it too situational, especially for solo play. Not worth a perk slot. I don't play as much survivor anymore, so I tend to focus on efficient perks that can be used in most situations. SW is way down that list.

as a solo survivor is a bad perk because people want to heal too

with SWF this perk is amazing.

I actually like IS as both a killer and survivor. When you look at the breakdown, the time saved up front is not much, if any. Time spent looking for a totem plus time spent cleaning plus time spent getting to locker plus 8 seconds in locker equals the time spent using SC in many instances.

As a killer, I like that your off the gens doing this. I rarely, if ever, run NOED so feel free to kill dull totems. As survivor, I like the efficiency of being able to cleanse a totem while healthy and storing that heal for later. Can be efficient if I don't waste time actively looking for the totem.

Like, DS does everything Second Wind does but better.

Second Wind heals you after you get unhooked, and if the killer tunnels, they will waste a lot of time.

Decisive Strike heals you to the injured state (when you wiggle free, you automatically enter the injured state from the dying state). The stun is like a cherry on top, and all you have to do is get downed within 40/50/60 seconds.

If Second Wind gave you the Endurance status effect for the time it takes to heal you while removing the healing part, then it would be pretty solid anti-tunnel perk. :)

I've only had it be useful to me once and that was during PTB. Was getting tunnelled by Freddy and I manage to run him around for the time it took the perk to heal me. That was my only good experience with it. Otherwise I get screwed by people healing themselves, even if it's just 1%.

Inner Strength outshines it by a lot. Also it combos amazingly with some already existing perks. Nothings more satisfying than jumping into a locker with Q&Q, heal with Inner Strength and then Head On the killer mid chase. I've had way more success with that.

I could see a use of Second Wind in a coordinated SWF, there is also a nice combo with Adrenaline and DS.

But in reality Inner Strength, Self Care, Medkits are just amazing alternatives.

Nurses Calling is a common Perk on high ranking Killers and the option to split up and acting independently, and as far as I am aware Sloppy has no effect on Inner Strength, but I can be wrong on this, don't quote me!

But still, instead of healing and exposing yourself to NC you are save within a locker and protected from every Aura Perk. Amazing combinable with Q&Q and Head-on. So even if the killer would come, you can get a head start in the worse case.

Medkits are an amazing alternative, because they can be faster or instant and free up a perk slot.

So Second Wind would only be an option to a hardcore gen rush squad, but they would still prefer Adrenaline and pump those gens out ASAP.

If you really want to use Second Wind reliable I would pair it with We will make it, and still you need to be hooked and rescued...2 things I personally rather avoid if possible and as solo you cannot 100% rely on your teammates...yes you also could take Deliverance to ensure the unhook...but now you have dedicated 3 perk slots for a single perk to work once, not counting in facing one shot killers (they don't care)

Pairing it with We'll Make it might help it's adoption. The perk may be having a rough start but I think it will get its second wind soon. Like Hope, it will find its niche as long as you don't give up on it.

I already run a heal build anyways so it's totally worth it.

Also Second Wind vs tunnelers is actually great. Just loop them for 30 seconds (probably less because it takes time for them to reach you in the first place) and you instant heal in their face. DS and BT requires you to go down fast, but Second Wind means you can capitalize on looping well.

And if they don't go for me I don't need to waste time being healed and can go right back to whatever I was doing before.

Right now my main build is: Well Make It, Second Wind, Spine Chill, Empathy

Just remember to tell your team that you have a heal build so they don't run from you.

But they can’t slug me to avoid second wind and if the killer isn’t tunneling I can do a gen and get my heal while repairing.
