Question about unique wedding ring

If you loot a key with an Unique Wedding Ring from a chest with Ace in the Hole, does it do anything if the game started with no obsession?

No it doesn't, it won't automatically assign an obsession because it wasn't brought into the game when the match started. I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think it works either, and if it does that's possible either conflicting with the game itself, or something else.
It may not have an effect, but it will the next time you use it when you bring it in the trial yourself.
