Do you think Demogorgon should cycle through his portals like Hag and Freddy with their traps?
I was wondering what people's opinions are if the Demogorgon has all it's portals out, and places another one then the oldest one would disappear in place of the new one. Thoughts?

Yes it should work that way , I'm not sure why it doesnt

I thought of this mostly because I realized some survivors I play against don't destroy the portals, kind of like the "don't cleanse against plague" thing. Heck, I do this too, if a portal is near a gen that's finished, I ignore it.

Yes.

I always seal the portal because with the right add ons he can snatch a teammate without them realizing hes there and I don't rely on randoms having a similar mentality because they always have one thing on their mind from the start of the trial, HATCH...

Doesn't this mindset cause the thing it's trying to perpetuate?
Also most randoms are still trying to escape through the gate and are reasonably altruistic, just not suicidal.

No. Too much freedom. However, I do feel he should be able to destroy a portal, so long as he's standing on it.

I agree that how it currently is set, his portals are a little underwhelming.
Id much prefer if he could destroy them than if he could just cycle through them. That way theres counter play. If you placed a bad portal or one that no longer has any use, Demo should have to walk/traverse the upside down to destroy it.
In its current state i wouldnt really play Demo for any other reason than unlocking the teachable perks. His shred is cool and all but I enjoy the portal play much more than another lunge/pounce ability.

No. OP did not give any reasoning why it should be that way.

I never said it should be that way, I'm just curious as to what other player's opinion are if he could. Me not saying why doesn't mean you still can't have an opinion.

Do you have any reason that it shouldn't be that way?

Yes, he should, But I'm fine with how it is now if the Shred pallets base stays

Personally I'm fine with the current state of portals. They're extremely strong when used properly and being able to lock down the map with them would be a bit too easy with cycling traps
I wouldn't be too opposed to being able to destroy portals as InfinyMage suggested though. Then there would be a time investment involved.
Also, seeing someone other than @DudeDelicious with a Plague avatar is strange to me. It's like seeing a unicorn.

As much as I would love it to be like that, it would make the Demo insanely strong. The way it is now is pretty well balanced. You just have to make smart placements and hope survivors destroy them at times.

Yeah i believe he should

No. Devs said this was done on purpose to make placing portals a tactical decision by the killer and destroying them a tactical decision by survivors. You need to plan ahead as killer, you can't just put them anywhere you want.
That said, if one of his purple/pink add-ons gave the ability to recycle portals that would be fine.

What he said.

I think it's the only thing that balances out how strong his portals are by exit gates.
If survivors are smart you shouldn't end up with 2 free to trap both gates.

Its funny that people should give reasons against things, but people promoting things do not need to give any explanations (at least when it comes to Killer Buffs).
Well, his Portals are not compareable to Hags Traps or Freddys Teleport. All 3 Powers let the Killer travel far distances, but Hags Traps have limited range (even with the Green Add Ons you can not travel full Map, of course there is Mint Rag, but you know what I mean), Freddies Teleport is on Cooldown, which is affected by the Survivors and his Teleport is completely removed once all Gens are done.
Survivors cannot deny Freddys Teleport, they can destroy Hag Traps with Flashlights or by running over them. Demogorgons Portals need time to be sealed.
Hags Traps can work as a Tracking Tool, but honestly, since you are teleporting instantly to the Trap OR when a Survivor triggered it when you were carrying someone and the Trap will most likely not be active anymore, her tracking is not good with the Traps. Freddy needs other Perks (BBQ, Discordance) to track and use his Teleport. Demogorgon has built-in Tracking + Oblivious.
And because he has built-in Tracking with the Portals, a Demogorgon can 3 Gen a Survivor Team, without having all 3 Gens next to each other. This is nothing Hag (because of the Distance and Crouching (again - except for using Mint Rag)) or Freddy (because of the Cooldown) can do.
Allowing to cycle through the Portals would remove the strategic aspect of them and simply allow spamming them. At the moment you need to think how you want to use your Portals, and cannot simply spam them and use them afterwards to 3 Gen the Survivors. This would also remove the Counterplay to 3 Gen-Demogorgon, by not sealing the Portals.
tl;dr: I would not compare his Portals to Hags Traps or Freddys Teleport, and the ability to 3 Gen with them is already really good.

I ask because no reasons for something aren't a reason against it.
Also the op asked if they should change, giving your reasons why not to change is just part of the conversation.
You say it's portals aren't comparable with hags traps and freddys teleport, but them the rest of your comment is about how they compare and how the differences balance it out... which is it?
Hag also has built in tracking with her traps, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that aspect is gone. And freddy has the snares that can also be a tracking tool. Demo happens to have the best of the 3, but unless you use addons, it's only really useful to know if someone is cleansing the portal.
Freddy can absolutely have a 3 gen situation when the 3 gens aren't close, the cooldown is almost meaningless.

demosomething can use portal multiple time maybe thats point

Having to place portals makes him lose a lot of precious time (due to gen speed) before finally going from A to B. It makes him really less mobile. It would be better for him to freely go through the portals.. He's underwhelming in this way.. Vs good survivors you can rarely use shred.. So in the end, he'll do bad like the rest of the lower tier killers if not buffed.

There are reasons that not all traps and teleportation methods are alike. Each killer's abilities has their pros and cons. People already complain about things like "Ghostface is just Myers and Pig," so why would anyone want killer powers to be more similar? If you want recycling traps then use Hag or Freddy. With Demo you have to think ahead.
