Pennywise is basically confirmed at this point so what could his power be?
Pennywise is more or less confirmed after the devs started removing people's posts so to spread the hype what does everyone think his power will be?

Deleting posts. 0 second cooldown. Unlimited range.
😆😆😂

What if "next killer will be Pennywise!" kind of posts are merely removed as the devs don't want false information to be spread on the forums?
If it's true however his power will be crazy against rank 20 (scared of any killer) and useless against rank 1 (not scared of anything). I mean... Pennywise dies if people stand up to him (or her?).

They could easily say "no official word has been given, don't trust random sources" and let people talk. Like with every other WANTED ip that gets brought up.
Deleting comments and posts is a very suspicious thing to do. Especially given their Twitter following for dlc history lately.
Also, the ending was a bit lackluster imo. But ifs the entities realm, not earth. Things can be different. They can be unafraid all they want of pennywise. They still live in the entities realm of fear and hope. Plenty of food to go around.

I guess his power will be throwing bottles which slows down survivors. Oh, wait a minute ...

Lmao

I like the movie's recurring joke about the fact that books written by grown-up Losers leader Bill Denbrough (James McAvoy) tend to have unsatisfying endings as if they knew the movie's ending was just... Awful. Anyways you're right about altered conditions due to the Entity's realm. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Can't imagine looping Pennywise, though haha.

If Pennywise does come it will probably have some kind of map movement ability since it could be anywhere at any time in the movies and book, and then something that has to do with shapeshifting or some kind of "Fear Mechanic"
Personally I don't want Pennywise in the game, the only things I'm intrigued about is how the attack and attack cooldown will be and the Mori
2 -
I imagine that he'd have some sort of ability to eat fear. This would allow him to start out weak, but become incredibly powerful as the game progresses. That is my guess. Maybe some teleportation and "shapeshifting" into a "scary" creature.
To be honest though, how would he work? I'd want an explanation to why It is in the realms. He would also need a Derry map. Ghost Face worked (kind of) without a map because he can literally be anybody. But It belongs in Derry.
Honestly, the "lore" we got for Demogorgon kind of makes me not want any other extradimensional beings in DBD, since they made it clear that they have no clue how to work them. Maybe that's just me, but I don't want to see Pennywise/It in the game, at least until they figure out a decent way to bring him in.
2 -
Possibly something along the lines of the Doctors illusions, spreading fear and breeding inefficiency..? Red balloons floating around, hindering movement and causing chaos?
Bring him on, I say! :)

I just dont see Pennywise as being a fit for the game. It's such an iconic look (Tim Curry version) but Pennywise is not an actual killer he is just a projection the IT uses to lure in its prey.
He plays mindgames with the kids and goes for them as their minds are more open to beleive in IT. This makes it really hard to implement their actual power as projections don't really work against survivors after a few matches and I think he would end up being a simple M1 killer and not doing IT justice.

I can only hope that there wont be Pennywise. This is the first Killer i really dont wanna see in Dead by Daylight, and there is no other i can possible imagine beeing worse (and i know Chucky and Leprechaun exists).
I love Stephen Kings work and i certainly love IT, one of my favourite books of all time, but imagining a Movie Version of Pennywise in this game gives me the chills... not in a positive way. He basicly has no real interesting power that might fit in this game, unless they go a totally different path, which would completly change the Character. Then we have a Clown again, with some random power.
Even worse would be a Book Version of Pennywise. There is absolutly no way, this could be done for this game and would meet the requirements.
But still... i try to give you an answer here: His power will be "Frighting". He can pop out everywhere he pleases with a Jumpscare and then he.... ah forget that, its all aweful.

Power Name: Barbra Streisand Effect
4 -
Nothing because he's not an interesting killer, he's only interesting as an antagonist because we don't know the extent of his powers which is what is supposed to make him scary.

Leaves balloons around the map he can teleport to. When in a chase he fills a terror meter, when the meter maxes survivor gets exposed and there’s a doctor madness effect with screaming until the meter depletes.

I didn’t watch the movies can someone tell me how he works so I can have a general idea on what he’ll be like
0 -
Shape-shifting Clown that eats people after scaring them.
Also an Eldritch creature from another world.

There is so many cool things they could do with the mori and attack tbh.
I'm still doubting he'll be added but he'd definitely be a cool killer as far as presentation goes i bet.
0 -
It might be cool if he had some kind of deadlight effect. He would probably have to since that’s his actual power
0 -
I bet the deadlights would only show up during a mori.
Him opening his head to show a survivor or something.
2 -
I'm just imaging survivors slowly floating off in space.

I hope its just a clown skin. We dont need another clown killer. Having legion and ghostface at the same time is a waste imho - even if their powers are different its just meh.
1 -
The attack could be like his hands morphs into a spider claw or something like that
The attack cool down will definitely have him laugh and his arm slowly morph back into the normal one
The Mori has so many possibilities, I just hope they don't go with the lazy route of the deadlights

But Pennywise only attacks children. It makes no sense for him to be in the entity’s realm.
0 -
Nah, he attacks anyone that threatens his livelihood, AKA, the adult Losers Club. Did you read the book or watch the miniseries/movies?
3 -
I watched the movies and I thought he kept the clown form to lure the children of dairy since he loved scaring them then eating them because of the tasty fear. My bad

Hey Behavior, how about fixing the game, starting with matchmaking and moving forward.
Behavior: Look over here, another DLC to buy. And did we mention the battlepass you can soon buy, too? Oh, and look, we chased and paid for another license as well.
But . . . fixing the game . . .
Behavior: Look at all the new shiny things you can buy . . . .
1 -
When did they say we have more DLC to buy I'm so confused by this post
0 -
@JustAFeeling They release a new DLC every three months. That's always been the schedule. Next one is in December, which is Chapter 14 with no new map. Then Chapter 15 in March.
Chapter 16 will be June, which also begins the Year 5 roadmap, just as June 2019 began Year 4.
Considering this thread discusses Pennywise, if accurate, then he would be the next DLC: Chapter 14 with no map. Just as Leatherface and Ghostface were chapters with a licensed killer only and no map.
So, yeah, next DLC to buy.

Oh I see but doesn't have new things every three months is awesome, no other game like it seriously and the dev's actually pay attention to their consumer's no other devs like them literally
1 -
Three months is a long ways christ we're not even out of September
0 -
@JustAFeeling I would agree with you if they actually fixed core problems with the game instead of chasing license after license, and pushing DLC after DLC, and soon a battlepass every three months, too.
And yes, there are games that do the same for content. I play Overwatch and get three new maps and three new heroes per year there as well. Difference is, Overwatch isn't a buggy damned mess, and the matchmaker actually works.
1 -
What if you look at it this way and bare with me and please don't run off what if they can't fix every problem until their officially done with content
0 -
@JustAFeeling I worked in game design, and that is not an argument. In a Game As Service environment like DbD, you are never done with content. You still need to fix major core issues as you go along.
Behavior fails to do so, for too long now. So why do I play DbD? I play it as a side game, and play it only because there isn't another asymmetrical game on the market with a playerbase.
2 -
A tweet to a post isn't a confirmation to the next DLC. Even if that was the case, you can't 100% just assume that it's fact. The DBD team can like any post and not have it correlate to the next DLC...
Personally, adding another licensed character kinda removes the whole vibe of giving us anything unique... Since it's not really made by the DBD personally, it's just a movie licensed Killer again.
1 -
He chooses to hunt children because they're easily scared/coerced. He will attack anything needed to survive.
1 -
Actually don't think it's fair for you to say they don't fix core issue's if I que I'm usually in a game with in two minutes give or take as far as perks and mechanics there's always buff or nerf tailored to the community output bugs and glitches are common in all games everything cannot be perfect
0 -
That's a fair point, but graphic/art/costume teams likely arent coding experts able to fix bugs.
Is behavior alotting time and efforts poorly? Absolutely. But to think stopping dlcs would fix bugs outright is funny.
R6 operation health only made more issues, with no new dlc. Took much more to "fix" the game than a focus change.
3 -
@JustAFeeling You can not feel it's fair all you want. I've been playing for well over a year and have seen the issue go on and on and on.
And a fast matckmaker means nothing when the rank disparity within the matchmaker still throws everything to hell.

@Carpemortum Oh, I know. But I am going to keep criticizing them until Cote gets the hell off of his love of the EA-model of Game as Service development.
I like DbD, I really do. But it's failed to grow, at least on PC where numbers can be tracked, over the past year for very good reasons. And the number one reason is: Management's handling of DbD.
1 -
Oh that's fair enough lol. Just making sure some of these circle jerk notions arent being supported by the smarter people on the forum lol.
1 -
So you got matched with a rank 16 and I guess you're what rank 9 doesn't mean you're outcome of escaping is any different that's solely based on your own skills you can choose not to interact with a bad team and simply use hatch to escape or the door
0 -
@Carpemortum Oh no, not at all. 😂
1 -
What?
1 -
I've Been playing alot longer than you so take it from me when you see a bad team just do your own thing rank actually means nothing they have rank 19 and 20s who are great but just don't want to deal with the sweaty killers
0 -
Never mind. Reply withdrawn. No longer worth my time.

Deleted post are confirmation of nothing. That barely qualifies as evidence.

Well maybe you should do something better then trying to finor minor excuses to make this game look bad
0 -
I'll type it again why not obviously I can't spell but anyways maybe you should fine something else to do instead of finding minor complaints to make the dev's and game look bad
