So I just found this.... the website is gamestats.com.... I dont know how dependable this website... so left to right MAU (I think this stands for monthly active users) , new players gained and total players
Added the top of the chart to show this is up to date.

Damn, I'm surprised Uncharted still has that many players after Naughty Dog dropped the ball with the multiplayer support

Damn that's cool to see. I play on PS4 and I was honestly quite curious what the player count was. We got 120,000 new players? Awesome. I felt like we got quite a big surge of players with Stranger Things. I've recently gotten two of my closest friends into the game and they actually love it and are getting into the lore and everything.
Nice to see new breath being breathed into this game. Also, I've only been an active player for like 2 months haha, I was originally hesitant because I thought the game was dying or would die soon and didn't want to get invested but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Hybridpanda did say that when he went to behavior studios they said that the number of players skyrocketed when the game went for free for plus and he said the numbers were insane. Which he didn't say exactly how much but I imagined that it's more than pc players.
I think this is somewhat true because I very rarely faced the same players.

They did, I just meant with how lackluster everything was with the U4 multiplayer. It had so much potential but compared to the previous game it had less than half the maps and customization. Also the whole loot box system and forced color combos was a terrible money grab. It has great graphics though, I'll give it that

There's a page that explains how they calculate their numbers. It's mainly based on the "MyPS4Life" video number leak.
From my own video, I had made my own estimate back then. It was just after the release of Legion and from my numbers I had roughly estimated a total of ~5.2 million people who had started DbD on PS4 at least once, and (to get an idea about how many were active at that time) ~31000 individual players who had fixed the chalet generator in Ormond and escaped to get the trophy in the time window between DLC release and the map being disabled because it crashed for many people. If we consider that there may be many people mainly/only playing killer (especially a new one after DLC release), many may not care about trophies and did not bother to fix that particular gen, others may have fixed it but not escaped due to being killed and their game crashing ... I thought that was impressive, considering the total number of individual players must have been a lot higher.
I have heard the exact same what WINTERS said, just not from Hybridpanda but Morf.
Not sure how this site handle multiple trophy lists as DbD has now though, they seem to be rare and the percentages seem to count for the new list only so they are not comparable with the first list.

if i have remembered right, i watched a video that said dbd has 3 million players, or was it 30 million? it was in the trailer of stranger things, or at least around that time. big difference to what you found.

Nope. 20k is the concurrent users (people playing at the same time). It usually ranges between 15k - 35k depending on the time of day. It was up to ~50k recently because of the Blood Hunt.
Also, that data isn't publicly available like it is on Steam. That site uses estimates, which is why everything is a nice round number. IIRC, people use trophy data to help estimate player counts.

Atm the moment it's terrible... I get the blurry frame drops playing killer so often on most maps I've never experienced this type of poor frame drops on any other game. This happens especially as demogorgon. It's soo bad!
