To Those Who Believe Lag Switching Can't Happen on PS4
Me and my friend Dewbie were playing a match last night with a Huntress when she started lag switching to teleport someone to a hook any time she was standing in a pallet or knew I was near with my flashlight. I have heard people that believe it is impossible to lag switch on PS4 or just too rare to find, but obviously it is possible. Luckily my friend was quick enough to clip some of the game. Although it's not the entire thing it is quite enough evidence to show the lag switching.youtu.be/4sl5R7XFZo8

Lag switching is common, but they can’t do anything that PC can do such as speedhacking.. thank god.2

Yeah I play on PS4 and I have came across a few lag switchers on this game. Those lag switchers are playing with fire though, because if PSN finds out that they’re doing it with proof they can end up with a $300+ paper weight.1

Lag switching happens many times on ps4. It is the other hacks I think we are pretty safe from, but lag switching is common.1

This is just lag, not everybody is up to some nefarious plot. Most any console pleb has no clue what a lag switch is, they aren't doing it. I love how some games I get a some lag spikes or don't have the best connection and instantly all the messages I get are ''LAG SWITCHER REPORTED'' Christ I wonder how you entitled millennial's would have died in the early days of online gaming if you think a few lag spikes are bad.

Idk seems like the lag spikes at the perfect time. Wish it would happen for me sometime. During the lag spikes in my game I keep teleporting to different areas of the map and she downed and hooked 2 survivors. People do it on Xbox too.
Most bizarre thing I ever saw was on Red Forest this Clown player was terrible all game, only got one down and didn’t even hit anyone else. But the connection was great, no issues. We pop the last gen and suddenly the game is unplayable laggy, killer teleporting everywhere. We’re unable to do hook rescues, heal, or open the exit door the lag is so bad. He got all four of us. Blatant manipulation.
Reminds me of playing Madden online on PS2, people used to fire up torrent programs on their PC right as you were lining up for big field goals and it would kill the connection with brutal lag, making you miss.0 -

As has been said, majority of console gamers have no idea what or how to do lag switching. Watching the video, all I really saw was some regular lag that one time worked in the killer's favor. Usually it is the opposite.

I live in a major city and sometimes it can cause spikes in lag especially at peak internet hours. Then I get tons of messages calling me a cheat etc.. It's like people don't know lag is normal.

My wife was playing one time. Had a rather bad lag spike. She got all sorts of hate sent her way. Keep in mind, this woman cannot operate the microwave without a cheat sheet. No way could she figure out how to lag switch.

Lag switching is definitely a thing on PS4.
I was playing a game with a bad killer that I kept escaping from. He caught up with me again but I got away, and hid behind a tree, next thing out of no where I go down, and then I teleport onto his shoulder and he walks straight to the hook, but before he could hook me a I left the game...I shouldn't have. Should have recorded the game play and then reported him. Oh well. Next time.

Xbox has a handful of lag switchers too. There is this one guy that plays Doc that I played about 5 times that lag switches. He did it to me and my friend, and he does it when you flashlight him. He will come after you and suddenly you are walking into walls and getting hit when he isn't even near you, then you just appear on a hook. I called him out on it and he replied something like "I wanted to do it the easy way but you had to FL me". Haven't seen him in a while though, hopefully that means he got banned by Xbox Team.
Oh he also rage quits if you destroy his Ruin.

That person probably just had a bad connection. I doubt it was lag switching. I have had lag spikes happen like that when I play as survivor on console as well.

oof, that reminds me, didn't care bout the actual thread but, oo, once I was against Hag on PS4 and no lag and I was being chased and I was doing well, until I ran past a few trees and suddenly I was down after being teleported back to her??? And another, I was David and I was so confused on why my BL wasn't working so I hide and when I pressed that self-care button, I was hit??? then downed??? then teleported back to the top of that house thing when I *saw* her walk out? I was also playing laurie and I was doing a gen and suddenly Michael was there and I had a heart attack but I'm 100% positive for it being lag bc... he wasn't there... he was EW2 too, wait, was he?? can't remember.

There’s a nice built-in feature on the PS4 that makes it easy to prove lagg switching to PSN. First, setup your machine to record up to the last hour of gameplay. Then, when you have a real lagg switcher, press and hold the Share button, then press square, and the last hour of play is recorded. Trim the video to just that game, and upload the clip to YouTube (private). Make sure to note the PSN ID and report them, adding in the URL to the private trimmed clip of the game.
It’s that easy, but make sure you really know what a lagg switch is. If you do this and it wasn’t lagg switching, guess who gets the ban. HINT: it won’t be the person that you were reporting.
