Tips On Playing Pig
Hey all,
I just started playing DbD consistently and decided to unlock Pig (Saw is my favorite horror movie series). Turns out I'm decent with her- my Trapper and Huntress stayed around Rank 18, but with Pig I've gotten up to Rank 10! It's kinda slowed since then, but I wanted to know if there's any tips or tricks you guys have for my rank and Pig. I just got her to 50 (thx Bloodhunt!), and the only Killer-specific perks I got are the teachables for Trapper, Huntress, and Legion's first (Discordance).

For me, this is how I personally play her, so you can derive some points from what i'm about to tell you or not. (Note, some of these points I make can still be used regardless if you have the DLC or perks to utilize these points.)
Personally, when I play The Pig, I utilize her ability to stall the game as much as possible. How do I do this? Well, because of how the RBTs (Reverse Bear Traps) work in DBD, I built a build around allowing me to down Survivors, hook them, than kick the generators they were working on to regress them heavily thanks to Pop Goes the Weasel (A unique Clown perk) which can be used after hooking someone.
The build I use is as followed, this can be changed up depending on what DLC you own. But this is basically what I use on The Pig... I use Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, Brutal Strength, and BBQ and Chili. These perks in combination allows me to slow down generator progress in a fast manner when kicking them, and regress them heavily when PGTW is active after hooking someone. I can stall the game as long as I can with these until the Ruin is broken, once it is broken THAN I begin to use my RBTs on newly downed Survivors...
Don't use RBTs on the first downed Survivor, yes it will stall them, but overall it's best to use RBTs when less generators are on the field to monitor and can allow you to protect the smaller amount of generators you have... The less generators to monitor, the overall easier it is to find Survivors, protect those generators because not many are on the map, and a faster potential for a snowball.
The way the RBTs work is that they're primarily used to begin "The Game" on Survivors once a generator is complete with the RBT on, and once the timer is up they die instantly. What I like to use them for is to waste Survivors time removing them while I down other Survivors after... This keeps them OFF generators and overall allows me to continue the snowball of downing other Survivors while they remove their RBT. Combined with Crate of Gears + Tampered Timer, this combo can really have Survivors panic and sometimes even die because of the time wasted removing them...
It truly is something similar to Legions mending + Thanatophobia... Survivors REALLY want to heal cause of the Thanatophobia penalty's, but the penalty's really don't harshly effect game-play... Its something to do with how Survivors think mentally, they see a RBT as a instant death so they want it off as fast a possible, same with Thanatophobia, it slows the game down too much, but in reality both can be worked around... but 9 out of 10 Survivors refuse to have both stick around...
Also, what I do at short loops with pallets is use my ambush attack to rush Survivors around the pallet when they think it's a good time to continue the loop... In turn, when I'm crouched I face one direction while charging, charge that way, but instantly reverse to hit the Survivor around the loop. This makes them think I was going to chase them in one direction but I doubled-back around. This also is effective if Survivors know about this mind-game, and instead you can fake a double back when in reality you're just going in a straight foward rush around the loop.
Remember though, The Pig is naturally an M1 Killer, and she is as limited as every other M1 Killer around loops, big window loops like Iron Works and Wretched Shop, and other things that M1 Killers are very much limited to... Such as map mobility, map pressure (Depending on power) and etc.
Also, RBTs instantly Kill Survivors when they attempt to leave the game through the exit gate with a RBT on... At a certain point at the Exit gate, the RBT flashes red and moving closer to the end instantly Kills them. This doesn't apply to the last Survivor, they can simply walk out the gate scott free, and the same applies to if the last Survivor or multiple Survivors exit through the escape hatch with RBTs on...
tl;dr
Use her ambush attack at short loops and fake the direction you're going to use the rush attack so the Survivor makes the mistake of going in the opposite direction and doubles back. Or, just brute force if by going in one direction because the Survivor is thinking you're going to mind-game.
Also, utilize perks like Ruin, Overcharge, Pop Goes the Weasel, and even Surveillance, a unique The Pig perk that allows her to monitor generators she has kicked with a white aura, once it turns yellow that means someone is working on that generator again... These perks combined with the stalling potential of RBTs allows The Pig to really slow the game down tremendously. Even without Ruin or Overcharge or Pop Goes the Weasel, you can still use perks like Surveillance, Brutal Strength, Corrupt Intervention, etc... (A few of these perks require different DLC, so remember that...)
Also, use her RBTs wisely, don't use them instantly on the first downed Survivor but instead use them after for example... your Ruin breaks or 1 generator is completed. The RBTs are useful for stalling the game and keeping Survivors off generators to instead remove the RBT. (Again, RBT means Reverse Bear Trap.)
One thing to note, the last Survivor won't die at the exit gate with a RBT on, but more than one Survivor with the RBT on WILL die at the exit gate if they attempt to leave... This means if one dies at the exit gate, and one is left, they'll still die if they attempt to exit the trial.

Use only ambush attacks on the short loops.
When you found a survivor while crouching don't ambush, just stand.

And since EGC doesn't work anymore with traps... Use them asap.

Sorry for the wall of text, read the TL;DR @HealsBadMan if you want a shorter version for a smaller summary.
