Why do survivors scream so clearly and well after being impaled by a hook?
I put this in the lore section because I wanted to avoid the "this is a game where people touch each other to heal, where a hatchet to the head won't kill you, and where magic invisible wraiths can chase you." or "It's game mechanics, move on."
However, whenever I hook a survivor, I am always in awe of how clear (unless they have calm spirit) it is.
I mean, the survivors typically have just been chased around, have been hurt to the point of being immobilized, and likely have the top of their lung pierced, yet they scream perfectly clear! (Even after being pierced multiple times before!)
I think it is because the entities domain exists in a spirit filled purgatory or something like that rather than a real place. Just a thought! haha

@Quol might be onto something. it could also have to do with how some killers like to hear the survivors suffering, for example, infectious fright's description reads "the cries of the unfaithful make your heart leap."
i imagine that, canonically, and pertaining to the lore, survivors cries would not only vary based on circumstance but would gradually become more and more quiet and drained as their hope lingers.

The entity feeds off of this stuff, i would feel like he would want to hear the screams of the survivors rather than a whimper. He has the power to warp reality to his will and as such making everyone screams beautiful would be what he wants (except Steve, lol)

So you can gauge when BBQ has run out.
Seriously though, it makes sense that the Entity heals them enough to keep them alive to keep suffering or feeding wouldn't last very long.
