Survivors de-pipping when a Killer disconnects. Thoughts?

I've read a lot of posts where killers rage quit and disconnect and all survivors de-pip for it and never thought it was actually true until it happened to me just now. I was pretty annoyed. Although, the survivors I were playing with were pretty toxic.

From what I remember, this never used to be the case?

Should it be reverted back to how it used to be? What is everyone's opinions on this topic?

Survivors should safety pip if the Killer decides to DC. I think this is potentially getting looked at but won't be sorted until the dedicated servers are live.

This has not been the case the past couple of games I have played. No safety pip was given 5 minutes into the games with the dcing killer?

Don't care about the pip. I'm more concerned over losing my item.

You do. If killer quits you lose your item. One time I got heavily abused by flashlights, unfortunately I don’t have franklins so I just left match so they lose their flashlights. There was 1 purple 2 green 1 yellows. I literally couldn’t pick up survivors, break pallets, damage gens without being flashlighted. I basically had to look up the majority of the game. Whenever I was in chase there was Survivors following me

Yeah that would annoy me as a killer.

Wow, I wouldn’t rage quit I’d probably just slug everyone so they couldn’t be get any flashlight saves lol... but then again all the gens would be done :S

i guess its not fair on the killer either when you have toxic survivors and continue to get the same group over and over

AFAIK you keep your item if the killer disconnects unless they hit you with Franklin's first and THEN dc.

It might be different if the killer physically pulls the plug. Oddly enough I'm pretty sure a survivor plug-pull lets them keep their item and earned BP. You'll recognize it as killer because they freeze up, and after a decent length of time their icon changes to the DC symbol but without playing the disconnect noise. One guy did it to me and his icon changed to the DC symbol a good 40 seconds after I Mori'd him. A few months later I ran into him again, and I guess as "Punishment" for being a DCing punk I tunnel-Mori'd him and he did it again.

If you want to punish a 4 flashlight squad bring Lightborn, Overwhelming Presence, and Franklins Demise on Hag, hit them and trap their flashlights. Don't DC.
