Spirit is Fine tbh

How incredibly biased this is. People should play both sides for a reason. By your logic, gen rushing is completely fine because it's the survivors job to do gens.
A: No one should be forced too use a perk because of a broken addon, just change the addon.
B: Gen tapping takes even more time then too hold m1, plus you get less bloodpoints if everyone is tapping. Again, just change the addon.
C: Spirit doesn't disturb crows when phasing, nor does she disturb grass.

However, Spine Chill and Fixated is anti-spirit, you don't even need Iron Will if you play everything right because you won't be getting hit when she can't find you. :)
1 -
It's been said many times, but perks shouldn't be the mechanic to counter a killer. Also, many people play survivor for the fun chases, and hardly anyone enjoys vs spirit. If I had to vs spirit or Nurse every match I would just stop playing survivor.

Why should killers need perks to counter OP things like insta-heals? Or why are M1 killers forced to use Enduring + Spirit Fury? The Spirit is fine, there are way worse things to look at than "a killer can actually stand up for herself and you need more than half a brain and a few pallets to win, plz nerf'

Now your just deflecting to an item to justify spirit because of said possibilities. I don't find Insta heals to be fine, nor are purple toolboxes, brand new parts, moris, etc
You guys can continue to justify spirit because of reasons "Iron will, spine chill " all the while these can be ignored for every other killer.
Also, m1 killers aren't forced to use spirit fury enduring, only bad ones are. Just hold w key kinda player.

I love people keep suggesting Spine Chill, Iron Will and such.
You do realize that is almost impossible to play at higher ranks as solo survivor without SC, DS, BT and an exhaustion perk, right? Now you’re gonna tell me it’s perfectly doable, and I’m gonna answer that beforehand: those survivors without the aforementioned perks are the ones I kill easily. If we’re taking SFW then you don’t need Spine Chill to counter anyone; you just genrush.

I'm giving examples of actually OP things, Spirit isn't even close. This thread is filled with counters, on you if you use them
0 -
Sure insta-heals don't have many counters but flashlights? Do you not realize how easy it is to negate a flashlight save nowadays. Literally just stare at a wall, fake the pick up, slug until you know everyone is gone, etc. Seriously?
2 -
Except they don't need franklins to counter those, especially flashlights are very easy to counter :)
1 -
Going into hypotheticals like people here did with Spirit:
What if you're out in the open?
What if while you chase one the downed one gets picked up? Just sayin if others can use annoying hypotheticals to make something sound broken, I can too
0 -
Both sides are forced to use perks to counter strategies.
2 -
You're wrong. Spirit is up there with all of them. You underestimate how good some people are at sound whoring. Iron will does nothing for you, but confuse ######### spirits. Anyways, you're welcome to tour opinion. I'm going to sleep.

Except playing spirit isn't even hard but pop off ig. Saying things like flashlights are op in 2019 after countless nerfs due to addon changes and pick up time changes, you really have no excuses. Flashlight saves are a lot harder.

But spirit in every post has a defence party claiming Iron will and spine chill fixate are some kind of counters. When none of them really are versus good spirits, and I don't need these perks versus any of the other killers, so why the f would I consider perks a counter to her exclusively? Alright, done with this nonsense thread.
0 -
Calm down, these perks are actually really good, but you have to understand what a Spirit player thinks then use that to your advantage.
1 -
ty for more perk-based counters. this is even worse because your goal with these perks is to not get in chase period because she's THAT dominant in them. this only supports my point
1 -
Well, there's actually a lot you can do in a chase, you have to think what the killer is thinking then adapt to the situation.
Sometimes the most obvious choice isn't the best because she knows that.
However, if you're really struggling against Spirit, there are perks to help you out.
1 -
the spirit is thinking "I see scratch mark, I go there. I hear sound, I go there". there's nothing to outsmart or outplay. it's basic tracking.

I'll give you some advice for the seasoned Spirit players: You don't need perks for this.
- Don't run back to the Spirit because she could be faking it — oldest trick in the book for every Spirit main.
- Windows force a 50/50 with her because she doesn't know if you're going to fake it or not.
- If she begins to stand still at a dropped pallet, drop the loop and go to the next one. Staying at the loop will get you hit because she will predict you.
- Don't make it obvious what you're going to do next. If you know she's phasing and you're confident she's hot on your trail, don't run to something she might phase to such as pallets or vaults (exception: If she been Phasing for a while, drop the pallet because she doesn't have enough time to go around).
- If you're going drop a pallet, try walking to the side of the pallet instead of staying in the center and don't always throw the pallet down. Throwing the pallet down while she is phasing tells her information, so she will immediately adapt to the situation and go around the pallet.
- (Cont. from the tip above) If you know she's just started phasing and you're at a pallet, drop the pallet on the side she is on because most spirits expect the survivor to drop the pallet on the side away from her. Some spirits even prepare for this by phasing around the pallet to go for a hit.
- Count to 3 seconds when she fakes a vault, but make sure you are running away from the vault. If you counted to 3 seconds and she hasn't vaulted, she's likely phasing around so run towards the vault but don't vault the window nor get too close to it!
- If you have a lot of distance between you and the spirit, run in one direction then walk in another direction. This is classic and most spirits expect this, but this works against good spirits more than it should.
- Running towards completed generators can hide all sources of sound coming from you.
- If you have a flashlight from a chest, aim it at her while she is standing still. Blinding her means she is faking, but if you can't blind her, she is phasing!
- Gen-tap when she's using prayer beads because it makes her impossible to grab you. You only have to gen-tap when she's not occupied with someone.
- If you know she is phasing, walking back to her husk while avoiding walking on your own scratch marks (she might bump into you if you do) can juke her sometimes.

Spirit is my least favorite killer for multiple reasons and I wouldn't mind seeing her brought in line. If nothing else, I support a look being taken at prayer beads. I don't think a meaningful discussion about balance can be had with that outlier in the mix.
I've been pretty neutral about the whole thing up until now, being a killer main that's not a fan of Spirit, but recently one of my favorite streamers was asked what the best killer was to start playing competitively with and their response was essentially "just play Spirit and you're already better than most killers".
Disappointing. They're not a Spirit main, either.
I don't play survivor, but most of the complaints I hear from survivors about her are: 1, they're sick of facing her all the time and 2, she's no fun in a chase.
I empathize with both. Not sure how to address either.

Yeah I love her power
0 -
Not that long though
0 -
Yeah she is haha
0 -
What?? I don't understand what you are saying here.
0 -
No. Neither side ensures fun for the other. Survivors try to escape. Killers try to sacrifice. Don't take words out of context.
1 -
You are absolutely correct. Gen rushing is the Survivor's objective.
1 -
well you want attention while playing as killer and if the survivors dont enjoy the match thats 100% negative attention with no upsides so you want to make a thread about how spirit is fine and people should stop hating her
1 -
C is not quite false..... many do not know this but spirit doesnt move grass inside a certain radius of her husk... outside that radius she moves grass, disturbs crows and you can hear footsteps from her as well...

I merely applied the same logic to the other side. I really hope not to see you in threads complaining about SWF groups all with purple toolboxes, and brand new parts, all ready to ensure you have a terrible gaming experience.
Neither side should ensure fun for the other, but at the very least they can try their best not to be a scumbag. Both sides should have a somewhat even enjoyable gaming experience, and if the Devs aren't going to make the changes to make it happen, we could only hope more people adapt to not being a scumbag in-game to ensure a win.
This is a party game that has been taken to a whole new level of sweat by people who aren't really that good at killer to begin with. All because they lost a few matches and felt the crouch spam was the biggest insult in-gaming history.
I don't personally DC versus spirit, but at this point I don't care when people do. They are't there to ensure a fun gaming experience for the killer anyways, right? Can't force people to enjoy mori, SWF, spirit, etc if they want they will DC. Add a wait time to it and it won't fix a dam thing. They will DC, and play something else during the timers all the while making wait times longer.

the majority of these are hard countered if the spirit tracks you properly. like, none of this is new to me, I've gotten all this "advice" from every spirit player out there. none of this works because it all boils down to the survivor having no information on what she's doing and the spirit having all the information expect sight on what the survivor is doing. there's nothing 50/50 about it.
some of these things u even talk about if you know she's phasing or not when there is no telltale in terror radius, you're just guessing. trying to blind her lets her know you're not getting any distance.
but I do have my counter to prayer beads, not something as dumb as gen tapping, since that just gives her a free hit anyways lol. it's failed escape attempts and a broken spacebar :)
2 -
As if survivor is hard to play....
1 -
It's not 50/50, but some people actually believe it is. It's up to the spirit to make mistakes and mind-game herself, which is 100 percent on them. This somewhat applies to nurse as well, if you have LOS, It's up to them to mess up their blinks.
They feels as if every other killer in the game isn't 50/50 because they got run around by some 4k+ hour player, and they feel they should win the unsafe pallet mind-game or shack mindgame by default. They feel like the lost the power role as soon as they run into a better player than them. It's really that simple.

@artist, I faced Masantonio's Spirit before and was able to do very well against him despite Masantonio's Spirit being crazy.
Did I go down? Yeah, I got downed, but I shouldn't be able to run killers for 5 generators, especially when I was facing someone who knows what I'm doing as a Spirit main. I think our chases were around 1 minute, and that's pretty decent in my opinion.
You just have to play smart and think like a Spirit main. :)
If you have a video of you going against a Spirit, I'd like to analyze the video. I can tell you what exactly is the right call at specific situations and give you in depth feedback!

I think one of the main issues is alot of the people that complain about Spirit DC when they see her and don't learn how to play against her.
