Would you like to see an Unranked Queue in Dead by Daylight?
Since the beginning we have only been provided with an online ranking based matchmaking, but I would like really to have this alternative. The player should still be able to gather points and items in the Unranked Queue, but it should not have an impact on the rank and the matchmaking itself should put together whatever players are currently searching for a lobby. I believe it could be more fun and also more comfortable for many players to play unranked instead of ranked. I therefore ask you guys whether you agree with me or not.

Indifferent.

Yes i'm against forced ranking/skill based matchmaking in any game.
Imo ranked mode should always be a side competitive option.

I just hope it would be similar to how rainbow does it.

Not enough players for it

Thats where cross play comes in.
The devs need to go nuts with features like this. Throw everything in
More options for players and more players in the pool.
Queue times wouldn't be affected if they added cross play.

I'm guessing it's Ranked solo and unranked for swf.
That wouldn't work in my eyes e.g. Beginner Killer will do unranked because they are new and not ready for rank games. Because unranked is unranked that killer could be playing against a Red or Purple rank or swf of them. How is that fair?

1) Worse time for lobby (less players)
2) Way bigger chance for unfair match (low players vs/with experienced players)

Que times would suffer.

I'd say yes, but I really think it would hurt the wait times further.

This, we simply can't afford to split the player base until we get cross play. :)

If we had a bigger player base then yes. Maybe cross play could solve the player number problem but that's not for sure.

At the very least there needs to be an option to launch a playground mode without people in your lobby, so people can learn the maps if they are new. Currently we are putting new players versus 3k hour players for choosing to play with friends, and they have no means of learning certain maps or the perks they are running. They are basically thrown into the lions den with no clue of how to not get instantly downed, and people wonder why they run toolboxes every game and sit on gens.

I voted No as a non ranked I don't think it would make much of a difference as its not a proper ranked aystem we have anyway. The rewards would in theory be less or wouldnt roll over to the ranked mode so the grind increases so it really only serves to split the playerbase imo.
If the game had 100k+ players every day and they also dramatically lessened the grind then maybe I would change my mind.

our player base is lacking...

Sure, why not. All players would be able to play funny builds.

The Kill Your Friends mode should have been made unranked when the game launched.
Instead of adding SWF and breaking balance for years to date, instead of reworking matchmaking countless times over due to SWF/solo/rank/emblems, instead of re-balancing the game over and over again for one type of gameplay then another type, instead of doing any of that. KYF should have just been made unranked where you can play with friends against random people.
A place where you can playtest builds, where you can learn how to play different Killers without worry, a place that is about just having fun.
That would also leave ranked as it was meant to be played. A mode that could be balanced around that. No solo/SWF messing the data, less non viable Killers, an overall better gameplay.
But no. The playerbase wanted SWF and the devs gave us SWF instead of an unranked mode. Now they're locked into the current mess, and dedicated servers only look to make things worse still.
