Talking about Doctor buffs/reworks
Will doctor have some buffs in the future?
Best Answer

"Could you talk about who you're planning on reworking/updating next?
We cannot give dates on when these changes will happen, but we can share some information on which killers we are looking to update. We will be taking a look at the Nurse and her add-ons (primarily her add-ons) and the Doctor. We would also like to review the chainsaw killers, the Shape, and the Pig, and more. Some may receive smaller changes or add-on passes while other may see more significant changes."
Doctor should be next to get an add on rework, which should help him out.

its from here, first question in the general section :)

I would like to see an expansion of the Doctor's power.
Maybe have the survivors hallucinate and see fake survivors on gens, injured etc. Maybe fake chests and gens too.

now that sounds awesome
3 -
Thanks! ^^
That would be really cool

He needs a rework imo. He needs to be less annoying and more powerful.
1 -
Is not really that annoying...
2 -
For me it is. The constant screaming, lighting and sound effects, fps drops and iri addon with constant heart bead. Sorry, I can't enjoy playing against doctor.
0 -
Fair enough except the fps drops (it's your fault u.u). Btw the doctor's iri add on is not really that op like others...
0 -
MY fault? I don't understand, many get fps drops not only me.
Also, I never claimed his iri addon is OP. I made it pretty clear it's annoying.
1 -
the only buff I want is remove these spark effects in the screen for survivors, my fps drops to 8

A view simple change that will make doctor a viable killer
- +20% Range on his Shock Therapy
- +20% faster charge on his Shock Therapy
- Doctor can unleash his Shock Therapy. This means, if he unleashes his power at lets say 50% charge time, the Shock Therapy has a range of 50%.
Thats it, doctor should be way better in chases now.

Yeah but don't say that doctor is annoying for fps drops, it's not HIS fault. Btw i struggle against doctor too so we are on the same boat

Can I just add that i'd love for the Doctor's Illusions to lunge at a Survivor or something. Like scare them so that it makes them panic more "OH ######### IS THAT HIM OR THE ILLUSION?!"
2 -
that would also be awesome... Doctor should be that ultimate "is that real or fake" killer. certain add ons allowing for different illusions.
1 -
Exactly! I love the idea of that, cause isn't the point of madness to mix reality and dream till you can't tell the difference?
1 -
it definitely should be.
2 -
These 2 ideas combined would make the survivor feel like his character is in real madness, as it's supposed to.
3 -
Oh yeah! That's a perfect combo! I want that now so much!

I WANT THIS
1 -
That's... Debatable.

It's an idea i've had for a bit. I would love to see it combined with the other idea like that other person mentioned. Doc as it is doesn't really use "Madness." as it's understood. You just see him pop and stare... or maybe a fake pallet... or maybe a light on you. None of it is really all that interesting or even useful for the Doctor (other than the light showing you that Blendette in the corner) so changing it to things that would make the Survivor REALLY PANIC and not just "Oh... guess that's a thing." would be much more fitting to his theme.

And maybe a little scary like an horror game should be. I love this idea, i hope that the devs are reading all this.
0 -
I mean, you could @Peanits and they would look.
0 -
.... opps I did not mean to do that, but whatever now XD
0 -
What about a fourth madness tier?
0 -
Not sure how this would play into things. Wanna expand further?
0 -
Nah, let's end this discussion here
0 -
Okay then, alright. Just was curious what you meant XD
0 -
Idk i was just saying xD
0 -
Ohhh XD I was just thinking. "How could we make them... MORE MAD?!"
0 -
yeah i'm going mad thinking about how to make them more mad xD
0 -
perhaps a fourth tier for the more OP illusions and such? perhaps its the add ons that add it?
such as "causes illusionary injured survivors at tier 3, survivors cant snap out of it until tier 4", something like that. just being thought up on the fly, not sure if that would be better or worse :P
0 -
woah you exactly readed my mind xD how did you do that
0 -
cause im a mad doctor as well :P
no i dunno, i just thought of it
0 -
That's a good thought too!
0 -
so i hope we gave a lot of ideas to the devs, so... do your best!

thank you. i feel like Doctor could be one of the most fun killers to come up with stuff if we just went full on into the madness. i mean theres been some really good ones mentioned on this thread already.

The Doctor need more than a simple add-on rework. The way his power function need to be looked at too.
Currently the static field does little to nothing beyond giving you that first scream to locate survivors at the beginning of the match. Its fairly easy for survivors to never enter madness 2 or 3 unless the doctor shocks them.
And then madness itself does very little and can be moslty ignored by survivors unless its tier 3.
-Off center skill checks ? Just pay attention. Its not like the timing is off or the success zone any smaller.
-Illusory Doctor's ? They are very obvious and don't do anything unless you are in madness T3 or the Doc is using a Restraint add-on.
-Illusory Pallets ? They require and add-on and don't do anything either. They just disappear when you approach them. You don't have to try and interact with them or anything.
-Illusory Red Stain ? Thats not fooling anyone. Usefull to keep track of survivors in the corn, but thats about it. Require an add-on.
-Illusory Heartbeat ? You can use your eyes to confirm that the doctor is in fact far away and look at your madness meter or potential TR perks icons to see if you are in the real TR or not. Require an add-on.
-Exhaustion in madness 3 ? Sound good, but not when you compare it to Huntress's or Clown's exhaustion add-ons, that are way easier to use and less rare. It can take 2 to 4 shocks to send a survivor to madness 3. Require a very rare or ultra rare add-on.
And then there is the shock itself. We all know the issues. Its too short ranged by default and does not relaibly prevent survivors from vaulting or dropping pallets. With perfect timing, distance and no lag it can be use a sort of anti-loop tool, but because switching modes and charging the shock slow you down, it can end up extending the loop for longer than if you simply forced the pallet drop.
Doc is cool but very clunky. Most of what he does is illusory things that annoy beginners and can be safely ignored by more experienced players.

Interesting, let's go over his addins then I'll offer my thoughts.
Discipline - that's the one that moves the red stain. I really hope they leave that one alone as moving the red stain to the person your chasing has a lot of utility both in a loop and while running through a cornfield.
Order - The illusionary pallets. Again, a good addin, I see no reason for it to change.
Calm - Reduced terror radius while in punishment mode. This is one I think many of us have underestimated until Ardetha pointed out how well it synergizes with Monitor And Abuse. I see no reason to change this one either.
Scrapped Tape - This addin makes your shock a donut. Absolutely useless. I'd have it widen your shock to make it easier to hit the guy your chasing (but shorten the range to compensate)
Interview Tape - ahaha, one of my favorite meme builds involves this. This makes your shock a 20X2 meter beam. When combined with the polished electrode, you get a lulzy 35 meter shock. I used to combine that combo when using Monitor And Abuse and Nurses Calling. It allows me to shock people on generators or healing from OUTSIDE my terror radius. Not terribly useful in a chase, but flippin' entertaining as hell to both me and my small streaming audience back in the day.
The electrodes - many people think the brown one should be base kit - I've never felt that way myself. But if they ever decided to increase the docs base shock range, it would shock me (pun intended) if these didn't get nerfed at the same time. As it is, I suspect the yellow and green ones are probably going to have their range reduced but have the negative effect of extra charge time either reduced or removed.
Iri King - I never used this much. In fact, I got a big old stack of them sitting in my inventory. If I'm in the mood to be sadistic, I'll use one. I wouldn't mind seeing it changed to something else.

And that is exactly why we are talking about things to add or change. Like the Illusions jump scaring you with a lunge outta no where to fool you into thinking it might be the Real Doc. Or the seeing other survivors thing as well.

Rail Gun doc is AMAZING

If you want to talk about illusions, imagine the following scenario.
You are sane, and you walk by to find your teammate squatting like he's at a generator, but he's motioning to the air.
"dude, what you doin'?"
"I'm fixing this gen you noob!"
"Dude, there's nothing there"
All you have to do is pop illusionary gens where they'd normally spawn in a maze tile or so forth. We know that not all gen spawns are used - so fill them with illusionary gens that only show up while in madness level 2? When the gen get's 25% done, have it explode in a shower of sparks with the docs laughter ringing in the survivors ear!
Wouldn't that be awesome?

THAT WOULD BE ######### AMAZING!!!!!

Yeah, but those illusions are too op if you have them after 3 zip zap of the doctor's treatment mode.
