Is there a reason survivors spawn together frequently?

I feel like since 100% of my games have ruin it’d be beneficial to spawn separately. You’re able to cover more ground and find the totem faster.

I feel like shroud offerings have become completely useless. I very rarely spawn away fromthe other survivors, so why would i use a shroud to spawn near them when that already happens?!?!?!

Ahem... Anyway you also make a good point, it would be nice to be able to cover more ground at the start.

Yea... but also. Good advice is never trust that your teammate really checked. I know several times my teammates missed and completely bypassed hex totems. Like even if you just saw them come from there, it is a good idea to still check to "eliminate" it.

Check and see if the offering to spawn together got burned. Because that makes you all spawn together as well.

The shroud addons were always bad tbh.

    • Survivors want to be split so that they can get more gens at once
      • Survivor shroud brings them together
    • Killers want survivors together so that it's easy to pressure multiple survs at once
      • Killer shroud separates them

Devs made the shrouds when they thought it would be a spooky horror game where being alone made you nervous

If there's one thing it's not, that's a game where being alone is what makes me nervous

It's to make Ruin more powerful.

My guess would be that they try to make killer and survivors spawn as far away as possible from one another, because it used to be that spawns were random and survivors and killer even spawned together occasionally. But forcing them to spawn a fair distance away from one another limits the amount of spawn locations, which I imagine is why survivors often spawn fairly close.

I don't think the map is large enough to accommodate such algorithmic positions. I have no evidence for this; just my intuition.

    Agree with this 100%.

I noticed ever since they started releasing perks/powers where it’s better if survivors were clumped together 8/10 matches I spawn in the same little section as my team.

Which is why I usually scatter right away.

Anyway, they need to change the Shroud of Binding offering because it has become kind of pointless now after seeing this. In fact, I’d argue that it now benefits the killer more to have everyone spawn together in this new meta.

Yeah when they started releasing stuff like Discordance I noticed all 4 survivors would spawn in the same spot more often than before.

It was never stated in patches, but for quite a while now it seems to be every game starting with all 4 players together.

It's CONSISTENT as killer that if you just head for the furthest gen from where you start there's multiple people on it, almost done with Prove Thyself usually.

It's been great as Plague though, go to one gen and everyone's already sick.

You.... realize the Devs are on the side of the GAME right?
