Up the Ante (idea)
So, as a long time fan of Dead by Daylight I've had my fair share of contemplating and discussing the value of perks, and how aside from the top five, most of the survivor perks are thrown under the bus or just underutilized.
So I made up a few rework ideas to some perks I'd like to share.
In its current state, Up the Ante Grant's 3% bonus luck to all survivors. Luck only affects unhooks and not item rarity, contrary to belief, and with the existence of Deliverance this perk is no longer needed as is. So I propose a rework.
Up the Ante translates to raising the stakes, like going all in on a card game perhaps. So as to keep it in tune with the gambling ways of Ace Visconti, I borrowed a bit from Tapp's Stakeout and this is the buff I have in mind.
For every ten seconds within the terror radius, gain 1 token up to a maximum of 2/3/4. Each token grants a higher rarity value, with 4 tokens guaranteeing a rare item with an add on included of uncommon rarity or higher. All tokens will be used in the search of one chest.
This allows the user to gamble how much luck they want to bet on the value of an item and would pair really well with my proposed idea for Ace in the Hole. Would you like to risk your safety, stay close to a killer and guarantee a green item or higher from a chest, or is 40 seconds too much time to gamble and thus you stick with 2 or 3 tokens instead? The cards are on your hands.
