Sweaty Killers?

What are you guys defining as sweaty killers? I think the definition is a bit variable on here... Some people seem to think its just killers going hard for the 4k, others that are trying to make the game not fun for people (by going for 4k?)

I’m going for a 4K every game wether I have slug everyone or camp the 2nd to last survivor. Is it really a killer’s concern how much fun a survivor has? That has more to do with them than you.

Nobody is sweaty... Unless you really aren't trying to win? Which almost everybody is to be honest...

Cant the killer just win? Like others said a 3k and 4k means a pip or not. Also you get 2500 points in deviousness when you kill everyone so theres that too.

insta down add ons with an ebony mori is sweaty in my opinion or infinite tier 3 myers with an ebony mori

I define "sweaty" to be when the killer drags out the game without good reason. When they slug with no idea where the other survivor is and its 45mins of picking eachother up, etc. because the killer is determined to get a 4k without even risking closing the hatch, etc...

Running spicy add-ons, perks, and offerings together because they're in a "Bad Mood". Or they want to ruin the match for everyone. Running stuff that spices up the game a bit once in a while is good. Too much of something is always bad.

I was called sweaty the other day for running a 'meta' build on my Plague. By that logic, any build that is solid makes the player sweaty, killer or survivor.

If it’s toxic and selfish to play to win then... yeah? So?

As a Killer main I only loosely use Sweaty for Killers that slug the 3rd Survivor and search for the last one. *slow shrugs*

As a survivor main, you should get over yourself. It really shouldn't be the killer's concern if me and my swf has fun, it should be on us to try and play against the killer to the best of our ability. Why you think it's a bad thing for the killer to want to kill survivors is beyond me, honestly

How can anyone know if they are running those add-ons frequently or not? I rarely use ebony moris (only when there is a daily ritual for it) but i will be called sweaty for it. I usually get a pretty good laugh from it. Although I am apparently a sweaty killer, I don't sweat the post game salt!

Been using alot of Black wards on my Freddy lately due to how many of em I find on my bloodweb. Currently at 23 and its easier to replenish them than the 2 addons their protecting.

Definitely agree with the slugging for the 4k thing though. Watched a Tru3talent video the other day where he had pretty much already won and was going for that 4k...looked at the time on the video and realized it was only halfway over. I typically only slug the 3rd if I can find start a chase with the last guy right away. If I'm gonna be searching the whole map for him... Id rather just hook the guy.

Slugging for the 4k depends on your rank. Sadly even if you are dominating as a killer and the last escapes via hatch because you didn't slug you can be hit with the "safety" pip. Killers are punished for risking one leaving in high ranks.

Usually i'm sweaty too, when i see a 4man swf in my lobby in red ranks. I think omega nurse after rank reset with a mori against randoms. That's exceptionally sweaty.

The only people I think are sweaty are those that run ######### like omega blink, or slug when there's DCs and ######### and it's not gonna be a high scoring game anyway.

As for what @RakimSockem said, I completely disagree about slugging for 4ks. If I've prevented 4-5 gens going off, I feel more entitled to round out the game with a perfect 4k than inclined to let someone go out the hatch after doing nothing. I worked hard and performed well, why is it sweaty to want to end on a high note rather than risk RNG handing someone an escape?

Who cares about pips, it's meaningless. The kills is only what matters.

I got called sweaty by a swf team because I tried to secure at least one kill at the end as clown on farm map. The funny part: they sweated their butts off to get everyone out but I managed to kill 3 at the end. I laughed hard when they called me sweaty because they tried everything, coordinated unhooking, bodyblocking etc etc but I'm the sweaty one right? I just wanted 1 kill.

I only use the term "sweaty" at the start of the match. If I see a killer offer any of the "Shrike Wreaths" I'll mutter something about the killer being extra aggressive this match.

(The Shrike Wreaths grant extra BP for sacrifice events. Like hooking and killing survivors.) So I generally associate Shrike Wreath killers with people who will tunnel folks off the hook and slug for the 4k. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just a little bit of a nuisance when you're just trying to grind BP for your killers as a survivor.

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,511

Typically I just use whatever BP offering I have, without worrying about specifics. If I have a Green one, ill use it over a yellow. The specifics dont even get noticed most of the time.

Hey, im using the black ward for the funny builds as well... like the instakill infinite t3 myers.

Nothing better than sweaty survivor salt! I had a similar one where the SWF group picked haddonfield and wouldn't leave when I hooked someone during egc. The three of them managed to save the person but all died during the process. I was using myers, don't know why anyone would try that against a killer with one shot..

For me, a sweaty Killer is:

Someone who brings in REALLY strong Add Ons AND an Ebony Mori. If someone brings an Ebony, it is not funny at all, but if they want to... Like, I played vs a Doctor recently, fair-playing guy, he had an Ebony. Was not even mad, he played fair and square, and after all, he is playing one of the weakest Killers in the game. However, if someone plays Iri Head Huntress or Prayer Beads Spirit with a Mori, this is just sweaty.

Also people who play like the biggest Jerk after a DC or Kill on first Hook. Just yesterday had a Legion in my game who camped me with 5 Gens to go, Ruin still up and 1 person killing himself on the first Hook. Like, if this happens (or if someone DCs), just play chill. You won already. I dont mean that they have to farm, but let the Survivors get some points by Unhooks or even 1 or 2 Gens. The Killer itself will also get more Points and more likely to get a Pip. This Legion got 18k Points and probably a Blackpip (He Onehooked 3 Survivors and the last one DCed, but even without the DC, it would have been 4 Onehooks).

Sweaty Killers is a made up term by survivors.

Going for 4 Kills is the equivalent of going for the escape as survivor.

Arguably the survivor has more shortcuts for reaching that goal tho.

I think this is one of the areas in which survivor and killer are actually fairly comparable- to me 'sweaty' play is when someone goes all out against a clearly outmatched opponent- I think the example of slugging for a 4k with 5 gens left is a great example of this. There are some games where you really can't risk mistakes, but going in with a try hard mindset from the getgo is sweaty. Whenever I see streamers playing this way I get really uncomfortable (Montos slugging vids are a good example of this IMO, the games seem really boring and he'll always disparage the survivors despite intentionally playing in a way which removes any actual autonomy they have in the game).

I think this is also why certain perk/addon combos can make a killer seem really sweaty--if my addons are carrying a game for me my instinct is to dial back a bit on how much pressure I'm applying-- killers who don't just seem anti-fun.

On the survivor side of sweaty- I remember a legion game during the double points event in which I burnt a BPS and just decided to have a chilled game- I was trying to completely a daily and had BBQ on, so my main goal was to hook all 4 survivors then just play the game out from there, maybe meme around if the players were fun. They weren't-- instaheal, baited decisives (which I took on purpose) and teabags at exit gate. I managed to get three hooked over the course of the game, but the gens went like crazy and they were all out in no time.

Basically, when the game swings hard in favour of either side, that side then doubling down on every trick in the book just screams sweaty.

Sweaty killers in my book are those who just use all the most unfun builds and perks and playstyles addons to win. They don't care about anything other than getting that 4K. Or they just run builds and playstyles that are spiteful.

Like you get a Spirit who camps and tunnels and equips Franklins Demise, or a Huntress who runs Iri Hatchet and Ebony Mori, or an IF Slug Nurse. Lots of them actually. But sometimes it's not the build. It's really in how they play. Sweaty killers go for optimal unfun plays just to secure the victory -- like tunnel camping the first survivor to reduce the match count for an easier match.

It's just a pointless buzzword like "tryhard" really.

And that's a word I reserve for a combination of trying hard (which is fine) with the stereotypical extremely hostile/angry "if I lose you didn't win legitimately!" sort of "competitive" scrub mindset (being a rage goblin is not fine). Not just someone who uses strong stuff and plays to win.

Most of the people like that are gigantic hypocrites anyway. If their opponents "tryhard" as well they'll often be the first to bring the word out in the first place. I've seen survivors with meta builds and instaheals call killers tryhards for running good addons, and I ran into an omegablink ebony mori nurse once that went off on someone for avoiding them via stealth, calling them a coward, noob and all of that.

"Real" tryhards that expect the other players to try their best to win as well are just competitive players, which is fine. It's when you combine it with S-tier anger issues you've got a problem.

As a killer there is no winning. Go for a 4k? You're a sweaty ass. Play nice and fair? Noob git gud.

My mindset going into a game no matter what build i run is to kill all the survivors. But if the survivors arent being asses in game then i usually let the last one go.

If someone dcs i kill 2 of them and last one i down and bring to hatch.

I think my overall 'sweatyness' depends on survivors. If they gen rush whatever, but if they tbag every pallet and point and click, thats when i go full on 4k or bust.

A Spike mentality is not a bad mentality. People are allowed to want to win at all costs as long as they are not cheating and not displaying poor behavior.

    Any killer playing effectively.

  • What I can't understand is the 4k I had a wraith tunnel and camp and the guy got 18,000 points which I also got, plus me and another survivor brought bloody party streamers.

Nice to see some people have sense. Lol at this forum as a whole though. It's just a massive 'post game chat' with bitchy survivors and killers going at each other because they just had some bad games. I'd like to know the average ages here in the forum, or at least mental ages. Would be interesting data.

Not really All a killer has to do is run ######### like Forever Freddy and Gen Grabber Spirit and get their easy win and if that's not enough lets add 3 Gen Doctor, easy DC's there.

I doubt ppl actually sweat in this game, str8 up from a survivors point of view, it would feel like theres a try hard, but honestly I think its just survivors getting wrecked really bad, and theres no other way to try to insult them after they've died, so you try to call them sweaty or tryhards lol

I prefer using term experienced tactical player ('sweaty' is used by survivor mains who doesn't even have killer rank 10 achievement) . It's anyone who has couple hundreds hours as a killer and knows major mechanics (like facing wall to avoid flashlight save , not chasing at strong loops and etc) .

any killer who runs an iridescent, instadown add on and brings a Mori. They’ll tunnel after the unhook, chase you for 5 gens, shake their head when they finally catch you. Like....we get it, you vape
