Its been a long time since ive seen someone gen tap, and you know it is actually slower right?

He means gen tapping to avoid the ruin skill checks, overcharged only helps gen tapping against survivors from doing it in a chase.

do you a vod which isnt 500 patches ago ??
I mean a recent one? cause the vod I watched was 2 hours ago

even exhaustion was resetting while running in this old age vod

That is the most inefficient way to gen tap. No wonder it took you 2 minutes to do.
Youre supposed to hold it for at least a second. And let go and repeat so you spend more time doing the gen and less time doing nothing. The way you showed it, you spent more time doing nothing than actually working on the gen.

I actually figured out the perfect rhythm to gen tap most efficiently on ps4. Not quickly but when you get to 15 blood points, release and repeat. In a team stop at 28 and repeat. Even though it’s slower, it negates all affects of missing ruin skill checks

I guess so but isn’t ruin inconsistent sometimes and gives multiple skill checks so my gen tapping negates those. Regardless I don’t gen tap anymore but it would be cool to test the times out of both gen tapping and not

It's slower and they also don't get to practice hitting great skillchecks as much, which is useful to be good at in many situations (like gens when Ruin isn't active, for example).
When it comes to being able to touch a kicked gen for 0.000042 seconds mid-chase I feel it'd be fair and fitting if survivors had to work on the gen for the same amount of time it takes a killer to kick it to stop the regression. Just seems sort of fitting to me, and it would make mid-chase tapping a much dumber thing to do for sure.

I am curious about the survivors being able to "Boop" a gen to stop regressing but a Killer has to channel a kick to start it regressing. I've had people do it in chase and literally just a frame of repair and they are off again.

in that regard you are right, gen tapping is not an issue, but what about them tapping a regressing gen mid chase?
that is not okay imo.
killers spend multiple seconds kicking that gen to even get it to regress and they can just get rid of that in less than a second, without even losing much momentum?
doesnt sound fair to me.

I'm fine with Ruin gen tapping, that's Ruin doing it's job. What really pisses me off is when someone midchase touches a gen. They don't even bend down, it's a game of generator freeze tage where I have to hold the generator for a second while they just need to bump it.

I like the response Peanits. This time...

This is a perfect example of how Killers are single handedly ruining this game with knee-jerk reactions.
It's clear that the OP does not know anything about this game other than what they perceive to be real.
Oh, brother.

Killers are not singlehandedly ruining the game. OP had a concern or statement. He posted it. There was criticism. Both constructive and useless.
Devs stated that they are not going to touch the issues. Nothing changes in game.

Wow. You are rude literally every time I see you.

Whatever the case is, with or without ruin, I will usually tap if I know I have to disengage very quickly. Like when someone's about to be hooked right next to me and I'm trying to get as much progress as possible or something. I have really bad luck letting go to go do something else because there's a skill check and then it blows up and then the killers on me lol

Nothing has changed about gentapping and ruin since then.

If only the designers actually looked at forums and took our advice to heart. But I guess they think it is their game and not our game.

Well gen tapping goes slower than just doing it. Say doing it normally is 100%. Ruin would be like 80%-70% and gen tapping is 50%-30% so he should be happy they are doing it it makes the game a lot slower

Yes, but having them in an open field also makes it easier for the killer to patrol.

I think the real thing with "gen tapping" is doing it to prevent regression. its part of why so many killers like PGTW lately.
The best solution is to give a damaged gen "regression protection," similar to how freddy's sleep prevention works with alarm clocks vs waking up otherwise. Simply make it so that regressing gens get a regression "protection" equal to the amount of time they are worked on if left idle. If you have been working on a gen for 30 seconds and leave it alone, it will have 30 seconds before it begins regressing again. maybe even call it 2 seconds for every 1 second being worked on. Point is, survivors shouldnt be able to take a fraction of a second out of a chase to force a killer to go into a 2 second animation to undo that action.
I've always felt that was what gen tapping actually was. People continuously crouching in front of a gen to make it go slow af has never been a problem.
