Nooblicious things you did when you started DBD
What are some of the most grade a, top draw, all boxes ticked NOOBLICIOUS things you used to do when you started off in the fog?
My sin? I used to think I would kill hooked survivors quicker by standing there and hacking away at them as they hang on the hook. Hey, they screamed when I hit them, so that's good...right...🤔

I didn’t know what scratch marks were and I would run around like a dummy then be surprised when the killer knew exactly where I was at.

I would get severe tunnel vision and chase 1 survivor for extended amounts of time. My goal was to break EVERY pallet on the map, and I would take the EXACT pathing the survivors took, vaulting every window instead of going around, ect.
10 -
Thinking I had a shot at freeing myself from the hook.
5 -
Attempting to escape from the hook every time
6 -
Chasing one dude the whole time and following them... and not realizing I had a MASSIVE red light coming out of my face.
2 -
Thought I could just jump right into hillbilly play with no perks addons or experience.
0 -
Standing in front of a myers because I thought he was friendly.
He was stalking me.

I couldn’t hit skillchecks lol and when I went around as killer I didn’t know whatscratch marks were. I put on No One Escapes Death not knowing what the exposed status effect was and I hit somebody and they went down and I thought “weren’t they at full health before I hit them?” I only got 1 sacrifice. Now a days it’s a dc and 2 maybe 3 or 4 if it’s swf

Survivor: Trying to get myself off the hook. Not rescuing others because I thought the killer would surely find me. Running around like a headless chicken as soon as I heard the terror radius instead of sneaking. Skill check fails.
killer: not using the killer’s power. following the scratch marks but in the wrong direction. Not looking around to see where all the hooks were - only seeing the one that might be a mile away. Getting hit by every pallet. The corn. The swamp.

I'm not sure if this would be considered noobish as lots of survivors do play this way (mostly Claudette's and Nea's and Meg's) but I was very immersed hiding behind trees, rocks or in lockers and from that I did even worse in chases then I already do.
I'm glad to of watched survivor streamers as I actually am slightly better at doing things then being THAT teammate.

@Dr_Loomis I mained saboteur Jake as my first survivor in 2017.
It took me a solid 2 weeks to realize that the hooks were respawning.
5 -
Oof. I was same way...

Just sabo FASTER!!! lol

I up down gens.. Well everything... I could not hit a skill check to save my life.. It took me forever to realize the audio cue...

These are my sins as a newb survivor:
- Hiding whenever I hear a heartbeat.
- Farming meat off the hook with WGLF.
- Crabwalking everywhere with Urban.
- Trying to get off the hook by myself and thinking Slippery Meat was an awesome perk.
I don't do this crap anymore, thankfully.

The sad thing is that I think this is the way BHVR originally envisioned the game to play.
1 -
Thinking a flashlights only purpose was to lighten up dark rooms. I remember thinking to myself "8 seconds is a bit tight" still cringe to this day XD

Thought Insidious would turn me invisible, so I equipped it on Huntress and stood on a hill and tried to snipe everyone.
Never saw anybody and I think it’s because they were all staring at me thinking ‘######### is that guy doing’

My friend and i had a key and we didnt know how the hatch worked. So we spent the entire game looking for the hatch, only to realize how dumb we were when i looked up how the hatch spawns worked.
1 -
I stood next to hook with wraith cloaked thinking I was completely invisible. Got flamed in messages after game

I always equipped toolboxes and thought they are used automatically. So I never used them and always was like: they do nothing, the repair speed is the same.
4 -
I thought I could run faster as Meg because her bio said “able to outrun most killers”.
Even as a noob I was never immersed. I played dumb though. I threw down pallets when the killer was 20 feet behind me.
I also didn’t know scratch marks were a thing so I was shocked when the killer knew exactly where I was *shocked Pikachu face intensifies*

Does not knowing that you can Lunge as a killer count? Because I've done that for like a month until someone told me you could lunge attack.
1 -
Same man. Spent about a month as Wraith snuggling up next to survivors before going for the attack.
1 -
Running straight, looking straight

I used to camp ALOT as killer because i found it so difficult to catch em sneeke fastasfuk survivors.
As survivor i abused lockers. Every locker was my safe haven.
0 -
Not realizing the red stain showed up through walls and such and always wondering how they knew which way I'd be going
1 -
<<Hide>> in high grass
Drop all pallets
Attempt escape (for my defense, the game told me to!)

As survivor I wasn't aware of scratch marks and I wondered how the Huntress kept finding me for my first ten games.
When I got tired of going against Huntress I switched to killer and it still took me a while to realize how scratch marks worked. I first noticed them in the badham school basement and thought they were just normal for that room.
I also used to think killers had different lunge ranges. I thought clown was the best because it just felt better than most to me.
I also didn't know much about Myers for a while even though I mained him. I didn't know Tier 1 was immune to detection or that Tier 3 had a longer lunge.

I would end up running into trees. Wait.... I still do that.

The merest hint of a Terror Radius used to send me scurrying into the bushes for about 2 minutes but I think everybody did that?
I also used to religiously listen to the Wraths bell. He cloaked. He uncloaked. He cloaked. He uncloaked...
Didn’t realise you could lunge until I reached rank 10….
1 -
I threw down pallets near gens when the killer wasn't around so if the killer came for me they'd have to break the pallet first
4 -
Not realizing I could scroll up on the Killer select screen.
I thought I could only play Huntress until I bought more Killers.
2 -
Throwing pallets when the killer wasn't even close to me during chase.
0 -
I always thought Sloppy Butcher was the Pig's perk since it had a pig on it, so I got the DLC only too be confused, then realized I was dumb.

When I first started playing, I would camp hooked survivors and hit them repeatedly. I'm embarrassed to admit that now, but I have long since learned better :)
0 -
Using a white ward on a purple toolbox
And waisted one or two pallets when i meant to heal someone on the ground and that taught me to immediately switch the control settings
0 -
I used to throw the pallets down nearby so the killer would have to break them in order to get to me :,-)
I also thought flashlights were meant for the dark parts of the map

First week I had a mori daily as Trapper, I spent minutes in a single game standing on top of the survivors I downed, trying to figure how to kill them. Finally gave up and deleted it.
When I realized mori offerings later in the blood web, had a huge face palm moment. Just read the explanations, duh!

Get obsessed over that one player that buttdances in front of pallets- stab folk but not pursue as I was easily distracted by anything and everything- run constantly as a survivor- not protect any totems- miss the easiest of skill-checks- a heck of a lot more- Entity, I feel old playing this...and I’m only a few months into DBD x3 Xx

I used to camp in the open with Wraith using Insidious thinking it makes me also invisible "facepalm" <.<
1 -
I didn't know what the terror radius was and how it got louder the more a killer was closer

My first ever game I saw the "attempt escape" prompt after getting hooked and quickly tried, three times. Then I got the "struggle" prompt. I remembered watching a YouTube video for noobs that said, "don't struggle on the hook" so I didn't. I guess that video meant "don't attempt escape from the hook." I was furious when I immediately died after trying to follow directions from a poorly made noobie guide. 😂

I did not know about scratch marks until my first Killer match. Oh THAT'S how they always find me!
Following Survivors through vaults.
Thought "Exposed" meant they could see me. (I think everybody does this one)
Forgot to put RBTs on people as Pig.
Thought Insidious made me invisible.
Step on my own Bear Traps while carrying a Survivor.
Hunting for the Hatch early in the match with a Key.
Studiously collected Ebony Memento Moris just because they were Ultra Rare.
I'm sure there are more. :)

I camped, don’t hate me!!! The logic is sound after all, duh they have to come get him then I’ll get them all.
I also got tunnel vision like LordGlint, I would waste 4 gens chasing one person and then get so frustrated but I think that at least helped me a little now.

I was positive Doctor was OP because I couldn’t hide from him.

Using self care
0 -
Dropping Self Care was one of the best things I’ve ever done as a survivor.

I use to not use my toolbox when Ruin was up because I thought it would drain my toolbox faster ... it did not.
I use to cleanse totems thinking it would mess with the killer's controls. I have a pretty stupid story for why I thought that way :P

I didnt know what a Red Stain was so I was always at a huge disadvantage.
