Ideas for Buffing Ash Williams' Perks

Honestly, I'm 90% sure that when Ash was released, most people only bought him for Mettle of Man. Before it was changed, it was the strongest perk in the game that could fit with just about any build, like the old Decisive Strike. Now, in order to activate it, you must achieve three Protection hits, which is currently a real challenge to do since the opportunity to do so comes rarely. His other perks were... negotiable, but didn't synergize well with his kit, nor were they very effective in the first place.

Flip-Flop's values are too small to make much of a difference. Some people would just be better off running Unbreakable instead since you'll most often be left on the ground for more than enough time to pick yourself back up. Nowadays, this perk is only considered "viable" when combined with Tenacity and/or Boil Over, which is a pretty useful combo, but one perk shouldn't require another perk in order to be effective.

Buckle Up does not fit with Ash's perks, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I use this perk every time I play the game since it's very useful in my healer build, but then and only then it has its uses.

Overall, I think his perks should synergize with each other, which is something not many Survivor perks do. I'm looking at you, JANE! So, here's my idea: rather than improved overall survivability(which he no longer has anyway), he will be a Bodyguard of sorts. See below.

Mettle of Man

Evil has a way of always finding you.

After you perform a Killer Grasp Rescue or you take a hit for another Survivor 3 times, Mettle of Man activates.

Once activated, the next occasion that would put you into the dying state from injured state is ignored.

The next time you heal back to full health, your aura will be revealed to the Killer when you are farther than 12/14/16 meters from the Killer.

Mettle of Man will deactivate when you perform a Safe Hook Rescue or are put into the dying state.

  • Increases your chances of becoming the obsession.
  • The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

Changes

  • Added the ability to gain stacks through pallet saves, flashlight and firecracker saves, and Head On saves. This creates more opportunities to activate Mettle of Man that are also somewhat rare, but do-able as well.
  • Mettle of Man now deactivates when you perform a Safe Hook Rescue as well. This gives you an opportunity to activate it again without having to go down for it. It also encourages people to play altruistically to avoid punishment.
  • You still have to be injured in order for you to take an extra hit.

Buckle Up

Unlocks potential in one's aura-reading ability.

The progress of recovering or wiggling Survivors can be determined by the intensity of their auras at a distance of up to 48 meters.

When you heal a Survivor from the dying state to the injured state, both you and the healed Survivor will see the Killer's aura for 4/5/6 seconds.

Changes

  • Very minimal changes besides the addition of seeing the wiggle progression as well. This allows you to know when it is the right time to run in and take a hit for that Survivor, which combos with Mettle of Man.

Flip-Flop

You have an uncanny ability to escape the inevitable.

While in the dying state, your recovery progression is converted to wiggle progression when you are picked up by the Killer, up to a maximum of 50%/60%/70%.

When you take a hit for wiggling Survivor, they immediately gain 15% wiggle progression.

Changes

  • This is mostly the same perk that I've been proposing in my perk changes threads in the past. So this time, when you're recovery bar is filled halfway, your wiggle bar will as well. When it is nearly 3/4 full, so will your wiggle bar. It's much more convenient this time.
  • The last bit I've added contributes to the Protection hit craze. When you take a hit for a wiggling Survivor, their wiggle bar immediately receives bonus progress.

    Is changes are really awesome.

Mettle - It was given extra requirement but it's still not overly easy as to become annoying for Killers.

Buckle up - I'm honestly not sure how much this change does in the grand scheme of things as you may not always have the option to body block.

Flip-flop - Honestly this changes great the increased value that's a lot more punishment to slugging without making it completely impossible or frustrating to get to hook. It also synergises well with mettle and we're going to live together giving you an actual reason to take hit as increased wiggle progression might actually save the person rather just taking the hit for the stack.
