What does the luck pouch offering even give the survivors luck to do?
I mean it doesnt give you better chances looting chests so what's the point of it?

Nope it just makes it easier to get off the hook... despite the change being so small that it's hardly noticed. Even the "Considerable Increases Luck" offerings don't improve the percentages that much, it's still around like 7% because Vigo's Jar Of Salty Lips brings up the 4% by 3%. So the chalk pouches give even less except the green one (Which only gives that 3% to yourself)
It's like, hardly even noticeable.

Luck affects your chances of freeing yourself from a hook, or from a bear trap. That's all, I believe.

I believe it also improves the quality of items looted from chests.
