Taking hostage in the game/delaying gameplay

Is it banable to delay the gameplay / take survivors as hostage?

I just played a game and the killer didnt want to pick me up or anything as i was the last survivor and it took some time for me to die.. he picked me up right before the entity killed me and hooked me. its kinda boring cause i couldnt leave (would loose all my bp).

    I believe that taking the game hostage is only bannable if it's indefinite. Basically, if you want to know whether the killer is taking the game hostage or not, ask yourself, is there any way for the game to end, aside from one side disconnecting, if the killer keeps doing what they're doing? If the answer is no, they're taking the game hostage. For example, if they're bodyblocking you into a corner and then refusing to hit or down you.

    In your case, that is annoying but not bannable, since from what you said it sounds like this was during the end-game collapse. If the killer had done nothing, you would have died and the game would have ended normally. So I don't think the killer in this case was doing anything reportable.

    Yeah.. i get that. but it shouldnt be happening at any ways :/ cause it delays alot of my gametime.. it should be an opinion for the survivors to bleed out or stay alive on the ground :p

    There is literally 0 reason for a killer to slug the last survivor and stand over them while waiting for the EGC to happen, only to pick them up at the last second and hook them. Thats not hostage taking, thats griefing

    Will the dev do something about it? Probably not. Then they'll scratch their head and wonder why every 30 days they have a huge negative on steam charts for their playerbase and scramble to release another free weekend. Which i believe DBD holds the current record for most Free Weekends in a calendar year.

    @Dasspapir

    Unless he kept you there indefinitely until you DC'ed... like if you were stuck in a corner and he was blocking the corner so you couldn't get out, THAN that's keeping the game hostage because you're forced to do only one thing... and that's DC.

    Because you died from waiting until you just bled out and than hooking you, there was a "definite end" so no. If you report him for that it'll do nothing i'm afraid. What he did was within the rules, so... yeah, sorry.

    If the Killer is letting you bleed out, it's not taking the game hostage.

    Right, if there is a definite end than it's not taking the game hostage.

    Makes me remember the good old days where games were taken hostage for 40+ minutes by a survivor who stealthily sneaked around the level instead of leaving. Such utter garbage.

    I mean you can still stealth around the map with two people, it's just harder to pull off. Regardless, it was worse back then yeah.

    We just have measures now like the EGC that will stop that from happening if one person is left...
