did dedicated servers sneak in?
Last I saw on the status of dedicated servers was this post that said they'd been delayed:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87216/status-update-dedicated-servers#latest
...but the last time I played as killer I had one ping meter next to my name instead of ping meters next to all the survivors' names, and I was wondering if that meant dedicated servers. And now the 3.3.1 release notes have a whole section about dedicated server updates.
Is it already dedicated server time and I missed the memo? 😀

There's tests going on for PC only at the moment. Consoles will still be on peer to peer like before for the time being.
More info can be found here, if you're curious: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87216/

They have been active since the 9th-10th for "testing" on PC.

got it. is testing opt-in, or is it just happening intermittently? Am I correct in thinking that a ping meter next to my name as a killer (with no ping meters next to the survivors' names) means that I'm on a dedicated server?

If you're playing the game on PC then you're in dedicated servers whether you want to be or not. And yes, the ping is an indication that you're on DedS.

Yes, you are a member of BHVR's beta test crew.

I totally get that they NEED it on a live version right now because PTB population is always much smaller and much more... toxic because nothing counts.
