Not starting at tier one?

I downloaded the new update for Dead by Daylight today and opened it up to check out the new Archives but noticed that I was already at tier 7.

Now I'm definitely not complaining about it but am just confused as to how I acquired these tiers.

    Basically:

    • Update was delayed. They were originally planning to release it last week.
    • Since you get Rift Fragments from simply playing, the game now keeps track of how much XP you gain since the start of the Rift.
    • The update got delayed, but this last feature was enabled.
    • The update releases one week later, so players got some extra progression based on how much they played through the week previous to the update.

    It was unexpected, but they decided to leave it anyway.
