What if Toolboxes were for Sabotage only
- There are many unused perks based around hooking slugging and carring survivors
- Repair speed toolboxes arn't needed when 2 people on a gen is already very fast
- Seeing a toolbox means a killer can prepare for sabo
- Hangmans trick may need to be nerfed a little bit I think?
- Toolboxes arn't needed for repair when gens go so fast already
- Ruin is no longer in 80% of games
Currently as a killer, seeing survivors with Toolboxes in the lobby, the killer can assume that they will be using them to repair gens
But on the rare occasion surviovrs will use them to sabo hooks, and the killer will have no way to counter, especially if the survivors are coridinated and using other perks in combanation
If toolboxes were for sabotage only, then a killer can prepare and bring perks to counter a sabo squad
List of perks that can rarely get used - Related to hooking, sugging and carrying survivors
Boil over - flip flop - break out - break down - buckle up - tencacity
hangmans trick - agitation - iron grasp - mad grit - deerstalker
You may say, but if toolboxes were for sabo only, no one would ever use toolboxes But i dont think thats so bad
Is multiple survivors using repair toolboxes fun and interactive currently?
Do repair toolboxes encourage interactions between the killer and survivors?
Especially if we are looking at ways to get survivors to do things other than repair gens all game
I'd like to see some suggestions for what the addon changes/adjustments would be
I think some addons could change how long a hook stays sabotaged, and could be a small counter to hangmans trick if it were used, I just dont know about Brand new parts and "repair intsructions"

I've been using Hangman's Trick for the past few days in preparation for that "sabotage 10 hooks" challenge, and while it doesn't see much use in most games, the times it does, it's super effective in letting me know where survivors are. The first time I got notifications from it I thought I was playing against potatoes who kept failing skillchecks or were trying to get my attention. Nope, they were just trying to sabotage a hook. And yeah 10 seconds at level 3 is super powerful. I had one game yesterday where I chain sacrificed three people on the same hook within a minute (one of them was trying to sabotage a hook in my face so I decided to show them how futile it would have been.. and the third one just popped around the corner at that time)

Yea, thats why i said hangmans might need a small change
But survivors could also bring toolboxes to fake that they will be sabotaging, so the killer brings a perk that might not get use, but im unsure 😥

So nerf a killer perk because they're changing one of the survivors' items? How about they don't change toolboxes in the first place.

Toolboxes are already going to get a look at.
Just with the ruin change, 4 survivors using toolboxes is always going to tip the balance of any game if they are using them for repairs
Heck even 2 survivors on 1 gen its finished in 44.44 seconds
And im thinking of a chagne to try and get some use to the perks that are used the least.

Well, if you see 4 survivors with toolboxes, you can always bring Franklin's Demise, or Overwhelming Presence + Distressing to make them use them up faster. No need to nerf an underused killer's already underused perk to make up for the fact that toolboxes are overused and overpowered. (and Pig's already been nerfed enough as it is, no need to start nerfing her perks, too)

Its not about nerfing Pig or their perk
Hangmans might not even need a nerf, just since the killer could drop the survivor, wait 10 seconds and then hook
It's about getting survivors off gens and using perks that dont get a used, getting more interactions between killer and survivors
If toolboxes were for sabo only, then hangmans might get used more, it just might be a bit strong
