Dead Hard Needs To Be Nerfd
I understand dead hard is a situational perk that activates when the survivor is injured, but having it activate every time the survivor is injured is very unfair, especially when multiple survivors run it. It should be like DS where you can only use it once. So many survivors have escaped thanks to using die hard multiple times in the game.

Yeah it's not that much of an issue to make it one time use lmao.

It's Dead Hard and no, it's fine. Infact, many players die because they run this perk and the dedicated servers eat their inputs.
19 -
Wait until you face a Head On team
3 -
Only the last 2 movies need nerfs. 1-3 were pretty good imo.
19 -
It's an exhaustion perk, they can only use it once per chase. Try to remember to bait it out. If you get right up on the survivor's ass, give it a few seconds before you swing; most survivors will use their Dead Hard once your red stain is on their back, so if you don't swing at them, they waste it. They also like to run straight at the killer and Dead Hard through them, so don't automatically swing if a survivor runs at you unless you've already seen them use a different exhaustion perk.
1 and 3 are masterpieces. 2 is meh. I don't know what you're talking about with "only the last 2"; there's nothing after Die Hard With a Vengeance. Hear me? NOTHING.
3 -
I agree, John McClane is super OP.
10 -
You're right, who am I kidding? 😂
2 -
There not gonna nerf it, it's always had bugs and has gotten questionable on dedicated servers anyway, it's not too bad anyway unlike the stun you get with decisive.
0 -
Then why do many low rank survivors use this perk? Must be useful if a majority of red ranks run it.
0 -
I hate playing dead hard. Why?
*Server delay joins the chat*
1 -
But you can avoid Decisive by not tunnelling, or if they run in front of you then slugging.
Dead Hard if used for distance...theres nothing you can do. They make it to the free pallet.
I dont hate DS that much as killer but DH is starting to drive me crazy. You’re finally about to get them before they make the pallet and oops no, slight dash forward and now you’ve lost the hit and they’re at an extremely safe pallet you have to break.
0 -
Always assume they have dead hard cause like 60% of the time they do, so just wait for them to waste it and then take a swing.
1 -
Increase the exhaustion time that the perk creates, 120 seconds at least.
0 -
But im talking about those situations where they’re close to a pallet or vault and they use DH for distance.
Theres no wasting it because its the very act of using Dead Hard that gives them the extra distance they need to reach the pallet as opposed to going down a meter before it.
0 -
Dead Hard doesn't need a nerf at all. For dodging it's useless because of dedicated servers, while for distance it requires some sort of outpositioning to not jump into something, and that outpositioning often is lethal if you predict their DH. Unless you have a memory of a golden fish it should work once per survivor.
2 -
Because it can be useful, but not all the time. In its current state it doesn't even do what it's supposed to do due to dedicated servers. It's pretty trash unless you use it specifically to reach a pallet or window. In most cases the survivor will take the hit regardless and go down with exhaustion.
0 -
Yes DH is fine...... doesn't rob the killer of pressure when they outplay the survivor...
1 -
I play at red ranks as both a survivor and as a killer, in it's current state Dead Hard in it's current state takes some level of skill to be used properly. There's many red rank survivors that don't know how to use Dead Hard properly.
If you expect a survivor to have Dead Hard just wait it out, then hit them after they used Dead Hard.
0 -
You seem to think people use DH to escape a hit?!?!?!
Dead hard is used to reach unreachable windows or loops, and to extend chases on already strong loops like god windows, nobody uses it to miss a hit unless they are extremely out of position.
2 -
You're complaining they did a single loop at the shack and wasted god pallet at 5 gens? DH is fine the way it is, the killer wasn't robbed of anything. Seems like the pressure was going strong at the literal start of the game.
1 -
This isn't the only example. Play the game and see for yourself. Everyone and their mother runs dead hard.
1 -
It isnt that, its when they use it to get to a pallet they wouldn't usually get. Key word: Dead hard is uncounterable. You cannot do absolutely anything to prevent him dead harding unless he is already exhausted.
1 -
I do play the game, quite often, and it's an exhaustion perk, of course it's frequently used. It's easy enough to bait out once you get up to the survivor if you know they have it. Dead Hard isn't even that good as dedicated servers will frequently prefer the killer's swing over the perk. Dead Hard is used often because nobody wants to walk all over the map with Sprint Burst, Balanced Landing is too situational, Head On requires a specific build which can easily get you killed, and Lithe is just okay. You don't need an exhaustion perk, but every survivor is more than likely to bring one.
1 -
hahahahaha i am main killer, dead hard is to easy xD Rank 4
0 -
Good survivors will use it for distance not for baiting hits. Unless you play specific killer it's uncounterable when used to get free vaults/pallets.
1 -
I know, I literally just said that in a previous comment. That doesn't make it always the case. In many situations, you'll end up on the survivor and able to bait it out. Try it out in the game maybe if you're having a hard time with it. Dead Hard is fine for me.

DH is ok.
1 -
Most of time survivors use it before you can bait it, In my experience.
2 -
Lol. You can counter dead hard pretty easy. Just hug the survivor and then you know for the next chase. DH sucks really bad with dedicated servers also. It's only good for extending the loops.

As a killer main, Dead Hard is the kind of perk you want BVHR to give survivors, it benefits skill and execution. When it survivor pulls off a proper Dead Hard its always nice to see and respected, rather than DS, BT, or Adrenaline that are just there and/or require a simple skill check. At higher ranks I expect most to be running 3 of the 4 skills listed, and Dead Hard is the only one im not like "okay lets get this mechanic over with and ill hit you again"
DS/Dead On either eat the stun or play around the mechanic. BT hit them again. Adrenaline, chase the Flash and hit them again. Dead Hard chase them another few seconds and hit them, it only really extends the chase small amount or if the survivor is good allows them to escape a lesser skilled killer.

Not all of the time and should they reach the pallet or window if you're that close you could swing regardless and there's a good chance it'll connect. If that doesn't work for you, there's Hag and Trapper to shut down these locations, or Huntress to throw a hatchet when they vault or throw a pallet, or Nurse to teleport past the pallet, or Hillbilly and Leatherface to avoid Dead Hard entirely. If they're throwing down the pallet early, you can prepare with Hillbilly, Leatherface, or Demo to make quick work of the pallet. If you're on none of these killers, you can easily bring a perk setup with Enduring and Spirit Fury if it's that big of an issue.
1 -
DH in my opinion is the easiest perk to face as a killer. Most of the time it does not work when it should and is very easy to bait. A nerf it's a little too much IMHO, it's extremely unreliable for the survivors right now.
0 -
Deah Hard would be totally fine if the dedicated servers wouldnt ######### it up so badly. As killer you can easily bait it, and in a chase it never activates more than once.
0 -
I'm well aware of the certain killer counters. I've mained Hag before but I prefer to play underrated or low tier killers these days. I main Bubba because I'm a Texas chainsaw fan but he's just so garbage. His revving movement is way to slow and easy to abuse, he get's DS'd everytime he hits an object and he relies on addons and PWYF to use his power in chase. He get's rid of pallets quickly but Bubba is only good at camping.
0 -
even if I wait for them to swing, they’ve added some distance between us and have an easier chance to escape/ loop. It gets annoying when an entire team is running DH and I can’t even get one hit until 3 gens are popped
0 -
Nah DH is honestly fine, just wait it out, it's only really good if they can get DH into a pallet drop.
0 -
The word is too masculine so perhaps nerf the name to Soft swoosh?
0 -
only using it once would be over the top.
deadhard itself is also not that bad, what imo is a very cheap thing is when they deadhard for distance.
if we could find a way to smooth that out its in a good spot imo.
just... deadhard for distance feels so cheap and has such a huge impact on the game...
0 -
On its perk description im pretty sure it says you can use it to dodge a hit. That's what it's s used for. The dash to a window or pallet is just a bonus. And like some people said, just bait it out. It's not that hard if you realise all you have to do is not swing...
0 -
ikr, i haven't yet, but i have seen killers bullied on youtube from it lol.
0 -
Those are memers. They won’t get away no matter how many times you get stunned if any.
0 -
Ur just bad if you don't know how to counter dead hard. It is easy to counter after you know they have it so that one initial dead hard is normally the only big one and if one dead hard is losing you a kill you shouldn't have that kill
0 -
Something tells me you don’t play killer much 😒
0 -
Dead hard is a hard counter to nurse. Every survivor that runs it requires 3 successful blind guesses behind cover to down.
0 -
A good way to counter DH its to run a mind game on the survivor. Get close to him, make him nervous to the point he desperately uses it. Then, it's just an easy down.
And, tbh, there are way better Exhaustion perks out there, like Lithe, Head On or Sprint Burst
0 -
I can't tell if your joking
As killer main, dead hard is a very weak perk to me. You just have to remember which character is using it
I'm going to assume your new to the game
0 -
If it’s a very weak perk, then why do a big percentage of low ranks run DH? Makes chases longer and annoying having to play mind games with every survivor I injure. If the devs won’t make it a one time use, then they should at least fix the broken stuff like being able to dash past a killers body like a phasing spirit. Survivors should clash into survivors if they’re dumb enough to DH towards them. Also broken to have DH reset after being unhooked/unhooking yourself. It’s obviously a useful perk for survivors lol stop pretending it’s a useless weak perk.
0 -
Besides being annoying dead hard isn't an issue. Play any killer with a secondary animation that might trick people into thinking it's an attack. Such as wraith's cloaking. Or bringing up billy's saw might do it. If you aren't baiting it than it's on you considering it's a small invincible dash followed by damaged running. Compared to lithe, sprint burst, or balanced landing which can be used while healthy.

Its basically a third health state for survivors.

Nah mate
I'm a high purple/red rank killer so idk I guess you guys just need to just git gud lmao
Dead hard sucks
