remove safety pip
there is really no reason for black pip. it just makes me (and a lot of others) just get higher and higher in ranks without having a chance with certain killers at least.

Ah yes you have the mind of a dev. It is too easy to rank up, skewing stats and matchmaking by an extreme margin.

The devs are not going to change the pip system workings. They are getting rid of rank so it would be wasted effort. See the post about matchmaking in the News forum for details

I get black pips all the time from survivor DCs that prevent hooks.. so you'd prefer a depip for said scenario

I would not count a DC in the early game towards the ranking system. That is a scenario where the depip could be completely replaced by a black pip.
I dont want to have "ez games". I like the challenge and I am totally fine with no kill if the game was fun.
But if I play multiple games and can barely get 2-3 hooks and struggle the whole game, I dont see a point in not deranking. There is almost no chance to get deranked except you are afking.

Ranks doesn't matter anyway, I don't even know why people care. As red rank survivor I get matched with green or even yellow killers and teammates every game. Rank doesn't matter, it has no impact at the matchmaking.anyway in its current state.

Yellow teammates are most likely SWF with someone high rank, which is another topic for its own, but the fact that there are too many red rank survivors (plus the ones which are teamed with reds) is coming from the lack of deranking.
Ofc you shouldnt play against yellow killers, but what should they do? Wait 30min until enough people at their rank are found, which are not teamed with reds?
Its true that rank says nothing as it is, but thats the whole point of this topic.

Doesn't matter, I'm green ranked killer and keep getting matched against full lobbies of red ranks.. so yeah, that theory doesn't stand.

Well, yeah.. when matchmaking gets fixed, sure. But at the moment, no. It used to be that I'd get matched up against higher ranked once in a while but usually people my own rank.. now, I get matched with red ranks as a green killer, and green ranks as a red rank survivor.. Things are backwards. But still.. near instant lobbies on killer, so I guess that's part of the reason why, and I honestly rather get fast lobbies against red ranks than wait 10 minutes for a game against green ranks.. playing against better people helps me get better, too, but sometimes it's just not fun at all.
