Let us do things while queuing for a game
It's no secret that queue times are long in this game; however, what really makes these queue times dreadful is that there's nothing to do while actually waiting in the queue.
I don't understand why every menu in this game becomes disabled as soon as you hit "Ready". You can't check your daily rituals, you can't spend bloodpoints on the role you're not queued for (killers can't spend BP on survivors and vice versa), you can't change your challenge in the rift, and the biggest surprise is that you can't check the shop. Wouldn't a profit-driven company want their consumers to be checking out the shop in their downtime?? It makes no sense.
You shouldn't be restricted to just staring at the campfire for 10 minutes as you wait for a game. Let us have unrestricted access to the menus while we wait. Once the matchmaking finds a lobby, then restrict it to just the lobby page, the daily rituals overlay, and the Rift overlay (when it's open).
It's one of the biggest missing features about this game outside of the actual game that keeps it from feeling polished. I hope this gets changed soon.

Hell even letting me read the lore of the character would be nice. There are many times I am sitting there and think "It's been a while, I wanna re-read that and... can't."

Totally agree. Or create some minigames for loading. Something like shot to ducks with the huntress or something else.

I was thinking about that after the post. I also like to re-read the lore, but the game also discourages you from delving into it.

I'm new to the forum. How likely is it that this gets the attention of a dev?

Yes.

Strongly unlikely I would say.

I bet that has some hardcore strange structure behind and would cause a lot of bugs if they enabled stuff. Just a feeling. Like, when they add ghostface to the game, WakeUp makes every action in game 10% faster from the first second. Pretty sure it has a reason why it is disabled and would need a midchapter PTB to test

Survivors should be able to practice skill checks and killers should be able to practice/play around with their power (Huntress would have a shooting range, Billy would have a turning mini game )

That's most likely the reason. It's the only explanation for why new menu options like the archives also require you to not be queuing for a game. It's a low effort solution, and is definitely worth a PTB to redo. Allowing free navigation of the menu just improves the quality of life for the game by so much.
Honestly would be cool, but I don't see it happening. You only really see gameplay while queuing in high production games where polish is a selling point. I'm not expecting that from BHVR, but this really would be nice and good for the game. That being said, skill checks probably wouldn't be that hard to do, since it's all UI based and no models have to be loaded.

Chess pls! DBD themed. We all know Quinten deserves to the king on the survivor side.....
Let the grand debate begin! 😈

First thing: needs to be Blitz chess, as the queues are long but honestly not THAT long :P
Second: just saying David KING
In addition to that, I would put Jane beneath him, both in their muertos outfits

Let Kate play her guitar

It's likely that a dev will read it. They won't necessarily respond, but that doesn't mean they haven't noticed it. They frequently go through the posts in the Feedback subcategory and take reasonable ideas like this one back to the design team for discussion, but they usually don't comment on a thread and say, "we're going to suggest this to the design team" or give updates on any internal discussions that might have taken place. Occasionally, they will take the time to comment and give their personal opinion on an idea, but most of the time they just stalk the forum silently and read the posts without making any input.

Bumping this thread because I remembered how this game used to be before the Stranger Things chapter. The lobby system was a barely functional feature: you couldn't send or receive invites through the game directly, and after every match, you had to remake/re-invite people to the lobby all over again. It really held back the game from feeling polished or even finished. Now, it's an intuitive process that only seems to occasionally fail if you choose an archive challenge.
Implementing the feature in the OP would do so much to help this game in terms of polish and engagement. On the last player satisfaction survey, BHVR seemed very focused on the lore aspect of their game, and as I've already stated, allowing us to actually look at it while queuing for games would go a long way.
