Devs, your game is not in a good enough state to justify DC penalties
Being brutally tunneled by Huntress whose hatchets magically hit you around corners because of poorly done dedicated servers? Finding out you are playing against a clearly experienced SWF bully squad as a low ranked killer?
I'm not saying DC's are justified. The guy who DCs because they are the first survivor downed should be penalized. But there are times, although I don't condone it, I get it.

Now, I'm conflicted. I know you're right. You are absolutely correct. Their game is too broken to justify DC penalties...BUT, I also think DC penalties are a necessary evil right now.

A Double-edged sword.

Down the road, absolutely. Now? I respectfully disagree.

It's just down to the nature of how disconnects are handled. It's done so nonchalantly without penalties, and punishes literally everyone else left in the game 10x more than the person who actually DC'd.

The person who DC's doesn't get any bloodpoints. So again, I respectfully disagree.

They don't get bloodpoints. Big deal. It's not good enough when the people who stay are penalized even worse.

Bloodpoints are a big deal, unless you have been playing this game for thousands of hours.

Play killer. Even without BBQ, bloodpoints are no longer a big deal, lol

If you don't mind being bullied. Then it is no longer a big deal, lol.

Excuses.

I agree. I think matchmaker/ranking should have been fixed first and foremost as these especially punish killers who can't suicide on a hook or anything, and after that was situated, then the major things used to grief on the killer side (bubba face camp and Mori's) were also reworked, fix some major crash/DC inducing bugs, then I think would have been a good time to add the DC penalties.
As it stands they really picked an awful time for this. The game is just not in the right place for it, as necessary as DC penalties are. I think the matchmaker issue at least for sure should have weighed out the DC penalties.

If they get to join a new game immediately, then they will earn blood points in their new game, while the survivors who stayed will earn less in the game they are still in, so the punishment should be harsh. If you really want to leave just suicide on hook and save the other survivors a few more seconds.

If I'm being tunneled mercilessly immediately after unhook then the DC penalties won't make me stay in the game, that's the issue I have with it. There is no discernable way for killers and survivors to get out of a game that is toxic.

Except the people who DC for those reasons knew full well that those things were possibilities when they clicked "Ready". Unless they're brand new players and this is their very first game, they voluntarily committed to a match in which they knew they might be faced against a Huntress or an optimal survivor team. So no, they shouldn't get to change their minds afterwards and ruin the game for four other people just because they're not enjoying themselves, and they should rightfully be penalised for such selfishness.

I do sympathise with lower rank killers facing a rank 1 swf. Either:
- Try to learn from the experience
- Wander around the map looking at the trees
- Eat the disconnect penalty.
The penalty is only a few minutes and due to lobby times, you will still get your next killer game before the swf you just faced will get theirs.

This is the dumbest thread i heard all day, congrats.
I'll put your equivalent response in another game situation. Is DC in CSGO a solution if you get destroyed 16-0?. No, i would suggest don't DC, take the loss, and move on.
Improvise, adapt, overcome or DC and stay on the bench, you do you budd.

Using csgo is a terrible comparison, imagine if csgo had maps that as soon as you spawn in you know your chances of winning just got alot lower or make your power almost worthless. Knowing that there is absolutely broken stuff in the game like moris and iri huntress and deciding to play on. This game has quite a few reasons to make you want to DC and that's a big problem

But nobody should be allowed to DC just because they get Haddonfield. Variation between the difficulty of different games is a good thing (even if the matchmaking takes it too far).

hearing the B word again -.- makes me think a killer stands in a corner while survs point and laugh and call them names, it isn't bullying it's trying to do what means you can to surv, yes i very much myself could throw my console at the tv or Mr Mushwin lol (jk) when i get yet another pallet dropped on me, but saying it's bullying takes it a little too far

I don’t know how many times this needs to be said for people to understand. The devs have said they can’t just delay the DC punishments until the game is 100% agreed upon by the community to be bug free and have a perfectly balanced system where no one can get angry at the game and DC.
If you believe they can make the game 100% perfect in order for them to add DC punishments you are living in a fantasy world. This is the real word and you just have to understand that what you are asking out of the devs is impossible and that the DC punishments is needed as a way of trying to limit the amount of DCs that happen in people’s games which is ruining this game way more then any bug or face camping bubba.

Why is it that the only people who complain about the penalty are the reason they put those penalties in place? Gee, I wonder..
Rage quitting because the game isn't going your way is screwing everyone else in the game over. They prefer making 4 players happy by making them know you're being put in timeout for your tantrum than letting you go scott free like a spoiled brat.

"DC penalty with broken mathcmaking" - BHVR 2020.

But the person DCing is also taking bloodpoints away from those who stay. One less person means less altruism. One less person means getting found is a lot worse and mistakes are amplified so game tends to go quicker which means less bloodpoints. So I have to disagree.

Maybe if they had a functional ranking system too to make... ya know... fair matches
