Were dedicated servers good enough to be released on consoles?
I'm on xbox and all the hits I get are laughable. Pallets are useless. If I get a pallet stun that also means I get hit. I thought it was bad before, but damn man. I hate being required to throw pallets early. Or at super unsafe pallets when I need a stun to get away to somewhere else, I literally can't even get that in any instance other than the killer being just as bad as the ping.
Were the servers ready to be extended to consoles? Or was it just decided to make everybody's dbd experience bad.

Seems to depend on your distance to the dedicated servers. I'm lucky, my overall gaming experience got improved, but I hear from a lot of people that dedicated servers made it worse for them.

@NoShinyPony how do I found out where my server I'm connecting to is? Because there's no way it's close lol.

@NoShinyPony I'm literally right next to Ohio so idk why dedicated servers have effected me this bad. Some matches had annoying lag before this change but I can't even play this anymore lol.

I live in Ohio and still get 90-100 ping lobbies lol

Weird. Maybe it's an infrastructure issue? My ping is around/slightly better than 50.
(I connect to the server in Germany.)

@NoShinyPony no my ping is always over 100, but below 200. It's consistent but consistently bad. Before dedicated I would get best as 60, worst matches I played were 150 (I'd dodge higher lobbies). I literally can't get below 100 now.

So your problems are probably ping-related.
The big question we don't know an answer to is: Why isn't the ping good, even when you are living relatively close to the server?

Weird. I live literally between Frankfurt and London and even then I get 200-300ms ping most lobbies. I do have the odd 40ms game but that's rare.

The thing with dedicated servers is that one player might have an extremely good ping, but the other player does not. And unlike the previous perr-to-peer system there is no telltale or indicator about other people's ping, which means you can't adjust your strategy beforehand according to it.
In my opinion, allowing players to see everyone's ping in the lobby and ingame would sort out the vast majority of the problems with the severs, because it allows people to adapt to it.

Yeppp also live in ohio here and my ping is always above 100 but normally below 150

I'm pretty much right on top of the Ohio server, getting 50-70 ping.
Still getting some....questionable things happening.

Sounds like the server in city A gives you a bad ping and the one in city B a good one, and you usually get connected to A.

I think the ohio server needs looked at lol. Im never below 145 and usually close to 200 and im in Tennessee.

from the info i gathered talking to other players and going through different dbd clubs on xbox people really don't like the servers. Rarely will you see someone who actually likes them because the hits the killer gets can be really BS when viewed from both sides and as a killer the constant rubber banding or randomly tping around like sprint causes problems in chases and with certain killers.
Really hope the devs takes them off console in general until they are further along and more stable.

I have played on PC, PS4 and Xbox. The dedicated server issue is far far worse on xbox than any other platform I have played in. It is on the verge of being unplayable right now. I mostly connect to a room that has a yellow ping, sometimes even red. I could probably count on one hand how many times a green ping has been encountered since the servers were switched on for Xbox. I have never had any of these issues on PC.

It's terrible on Xbox. Exactly as you said, can't throw pallets for stuns. Just have to throw them all early which really defeats the purpose of the game. Also getting hit miles through my vaults too. Also skill checks used to be kinda delayed but I learned exactly how early to be on them to get perfect ones most of the time. Now they're inconsistent. Sometimes I've gotta be early, sometimes they're dead on, for things like overcharge or DS it's very game changing. Dedicated servers have destroyed the experience.

Xbox is just worse than everyone else for dedicated servers.

Same problems as you. Had red ping? Perfect game still. Dedicated server green ping? 60-80? Stabbed by Myers IN the building as my head is at the halfway point of the asylum.
Always hit behind the killer during a 360. Always hit at pallets.
I cannot play the game on Xbox and will refuse to until the issue is fixed.

I've only played on PC and Xbox. PC is manageable but annoying, and xbox is just plain unplayable. But I can't just always play on PC since it isn't mine. All my stuff is on xbox and I dont wanna have to start over on PC anyway. I only do that at a friend's house to be able to play it with them. So I'm kinda stuck.
If I dont run far away from a vault after taking it then I can still get hit. Four lanes are terrible because they're narrow and I get hit through that window every single time. All the others I at least have a chance to maybe control anything about it, but that one doesn't matter what I do.
I've had issues with skill checks as well. I had the timing down perfectly to hit mostly greats or adjust to them before, but now they're never consistent.
