3 conditions to unlock the 5th perk slot
With the final chapter we will have around 70 surv/60 killer perks, this is around x3/x4 times since DBD was born, but we didn't obtain any equivalent number perk slots. I see how the fun is limited by this number of 4 perk slots, and how at least a 5th would significantly make us keep playing the game more, instead of forcing us with the season reset.
In order to make this 5th perk slot not OP, let's add up ALL the following conditions:
1º) The 5th slot perk must be a base from the survs/killers (i.e. Dwight can equip "Bond" but not "Unbreakable")
2º) It is required at least a devotion level of 3, therefore average/vets are rewarded and newbies encouraged
3º) the cost for unlocking should be 20,000 iridescent shreds (or similar high price, for survs and/or killers)
Opinions? @Peanits ? Thanks for your feedback

I like that idea but I guess many others will have issues with that.

which kind of issues?
I would even go for a 4th condition of prestige level 3! imagine how much I need a 5th slot~~

Yeah, it becomes too hard for most to get as not everyone plays 24/7 to grind all the bloodpoints and shards needed. Would make the game more unbalanced and cause outcry from those who cant get it.

The game is balanced around 4 perk slots. It will never happen.

Nobody needs a 5th perk spot. If survivors get a 5th then the killer gets a 5th. Ultimately, nothing really changes it just gets more convoluted, and with your method veterans would have an even more massive advantage over noobs than they already have. I would think that it would actively deter newcomers from playing more. I’ve been playing for 6 months now and I’m still only devotion 1 after making this game my primary focus over others. Devotion 3 is at least a year away for me and that’s only if I continue at the rate I’m already slogging away!

Fun now every time I go against a thousand hour swf not only will I be at a disadvantage but I’ll be at a perk deficit too

It's not a good idea to give veterans a mechanical advantage over new players on top of the natural experience advantage they already have with matchmaking as it currently is.
Also, you're suggesting that a fifth perk slot be added on the basis that there are many more perks in the game now than there used to be, but that's a flawed premise. The number of perk slots each player has never had anything to do with the size of the perk pool, but with the balance of the game. Adding another would throw off that balance far more than I think you're giving it credit for.

The idea has merit, I think. But a few flaws too. It'd certainly make survivors have a difference between them. Though at the same time it'd be really screwing over killers with all bad perks. Wraith, for example. Maybe if survivors had to pick a skill from their skillset for the 5th perk slot but killers could choose ANY perk they want for the 5th slot. But there's other issues to consider as well, such as how some survivors would have the ability to be pretty OP with that 5th slot. Don't think it should be added, but its worth discussing.
