DC Penalty for things out of my control
So, I'm just playing the match normally and my internet decides to crash for no reason. It has done this 2 times yesterday escalating to a 15 minute timer ban. The day before it was just the game bugging out making me disconnect when my internet didn't crash. Then now once again, my internet crashed for like 10 seconds and im penalized for it up to 30 minutes when it isn't something I can control.
I get the reasoning behind the system but it is unfair to the people (like me) who has situations when their game crashes, internet crashes or even the game kicking you out for no reason. To me, I hate this system. It is "working as intended" but it really isn't put in the state of being fair.
This is not a competitive game and never was intended to be. The fact that killers and other survivors get upset to disconnects don't realize that the players aren't always responsible for their disconnect. As they don't consider if their internet died, game crashed, or even clicking the button to leave the match due to real life things coming up like family emergencies.
I am disappointed about this system and not happy but at the same time I am happy about it. It's just something that I think the system needs to be able to detect when someones internet dies, game crashes or the game kicking them out when it isn't their internet.
This is just what I think about the system and what COULD possibly be looked at to help the people that have no control over this type of stuff.

Your Internet connection isnt their problem and there is no way to distinguish between internet crash and turning it off. The only issue they should be able to fix is if the game crashes itself and generating a crash report.

True. It isn't their problem. But it still doesn't justify how long the decay takes for it to go down by 1 level of the ban timer. So, my last timer before i posted this was the 30 minutes from my internet crashing. The day that I got the 15 minute timer the first time was when the game kicked me out for no reason. (Was not my internet)
Then, after 24 hours it had only decayed down to the previous 10 minute ban timer. So when the game kicked me out, it was another 15 minute timer. So having to go what? 4 days without a single disconnect for it to go back to 0? That's ridiculous and too long for the decay timer to completely go back to 0. Especially when anything that counts as a disconnect that the player did not do on his/her own. aka clicking "leave match"
But once again as I said, it's not a competitive game nor was made to be. Even before the penalty system, people that were trying to de-rank either did DC or just kill themselves on first hook. Which is basically equivalent to a DC imo. My whole point being that the system is silly overall due to the amount of bugs that disconnect you from the game besides people's internet crashing or whatever. Unless they actually focused more so on fixing game breaking bugs that disconnect a player from a match, the penalty system should be put way off until fixed. or possibly reduce the amount of time until the decay timer goes back to 0. (Being the amount of hours for the timer to go from 30 minute ban to the previous 15 minute ban on the next DC)

I agree that a way to distinguish between crashes/bugs and someone purposefully leaving the match should be implemented, though I don't know how, or if it's even possible.
Until then, if the penalties arise from you having a bad connection, then... sorry, but it isn't really the system's fault. At least not yet.
I know it's easier said than done, but the solution would be to detect and fix your internet problems. Remember that even if it isn't technically your fault, the fact that you disconnect from a match affects the remaining players. Why should they pay the consequences of you having a bad connection if they do have a good connection? This is also another reason the system was implemented, not just for the rage-quitters, but also as a warning: If your internet has constant connection issues, you should stop playing for a while and try again some other time when your connection is more stable, or when the problems have been fixed.

You see that's the thing.... I have a wifi adapter that went to ######### a while back. Literally I'd get 120mb down and 80mb up and the connection never cut out unless the modem was reset or power went out. After it went to #########, I started to tether my connection from my phone to my pc. Same stats and the signal never cut out until they did the 3.5.2 hotfix. It is oddly weird and I shouldn't have to stop playing the one and only game I enjoy the most because of this issue.
"connection more stable"
Connection to every other device in my house is completely fine besides me tethering. Not to mention it's only specifically when I play this game.
