The Spirit's hair
Summary:
Spirit's hair is bugged on literally every her cosmetic.
Description:
Currently there are some issues with Spirit's hair: It's too transparent, it's animation is broken and the texture of her hair looks unfinished. This issue happened with the release of the Stranger Things update, correctly - after the global hair cosmetics update, which mostly hurt Spirit's hair. It doesn't even look like a hair on most of her skins.
Step to Reproduce:
Just select Spirit in the shop and slowly rotate her while equipping any of her hair cosmetics. The same effect you can get by selecting her on the killer select screen, where you can fully see her bugged hair while slowly rotating, too.
Im playing on fullscreen all the time with 100% resolution. My monitor's resolution is 1600x900. This issue appears on every graphic's mode: From low to ultra. It doesn't matter.

Oh my god, shame, BHVR. @Peanits @not_Queen. This bug has been more than six months old and appeared with the release of DLC with Demo in September. Like bugs with sound. Neither one has been decided, but 2 new DLC have already been released. My congratulations! In addition to her hair, for 8 months her set has been bug, under the name Tattered Tradition.

I am completely calm. It’s funny to me how BHVR likes to fix bugs. Sound errors are not corrected HALF A YEAR. But the error with the purchase of DLC for money we will solve in half an hour and report it. But on the game errors that kill the gaming experience and process we will be silent and not correct them for years. If we don’t kick them, they won’t do anything. Updates and so come out every 1.5 months. This is not enough and the number of bugs that they correct is extremely small. More errors appear than they are corrected. I will not even talk about endless infinite, the size of maps, the state of killers. But then we release a survey on archives. But we do not have enough money from the sale of skins. I am ashamed of them.

Apparently Oni's hair is kinda transparent and he is balding, too. Just like Spirit. Family problems lol
This is medium and higher settings.

On PS4 the same problem. It's funny how 3 months developers can’t solve this problem and when they released Oni looked very bad. Really all so do not care for it? Or are the standards of this company so small that no one even checks how everything looks in the game?

The thing is, this issue is not that noticable on low settings. On low settings it looks, let's say, "okayish" but not fine at the same time. So this might be the reason of this bug being in the game for that long.
After loading into the game noone looks at Spirit's or Oni's hair, so yeah, noone besides Spirit players is complaining.
But at the same time the fact that Spirit's Blight cosmetic was released in it's bugged state, and Oni with his hair too, im anyways wasted my money on this :)

You speak for PC players, what about consoles? Nobody checks console versions? There are no graphics settings, all flaws and errors are visible immediately. Yeah, even if you take into account the PC, is the game really not tested at low settings and at high? This is just an absurd excuse. Oh, listen to me. A good example of how bad things are with content validation. Check out my post here. They even released a video, where in close-up showed invisible pieces of texture.

Yeah, unfortunately this happens with a lot (and I mean A LOT) of different hairs; not just on killer but on survivor as well. Just look at Nea's two default heads or her pixie-cut ones, it's like someone took a cheese grater to it. Adam, Claudette, Kate, Bill, Feng, David, and Quentin all have this same see through hair issue on MULTIPLE headpieces. It's really comical to me that they now completely force AA on the game when it does nothing to improve how things look. Hell even on the characters that DON'T have the cheese grated hair they still look worse than how they used to. It looks way more patchy and poorly modeled, all because they're supposed to be "optimizations". Well I can tell you from playing for over 3 years now that these "optimizations" to the hair have literally done nothing but make both survivors and killers look worse with NO visual improvements. If it's to the point that you have to make the game super blurry and ugly to look at just to have no actual performance improvements, that "optimization" should be scrapped and just revert things to how they used to be.

Yep, i would like a revert too because most of hair cosmetics are still looking bad despite some fixes and all the negative feedback from community. And it mostly hurt Spirit's hair which is just painful to watch.
And i'm just shocked about Oni being released in his bugged state, too. I hope this all will be fixed.

The game basically has bad graphics with any settings. The graphics of the game since 2010. But we will render videos and screenshots so that the graphics look better than in the game. Of course. When will the engine or graphic settings of the game be updated? What would the game look like at least the times of 2015, not to mention 2020. Probably never.

Also this issue (With hair transparency and etc etc) is less noticable on higher settings. But Spirit and Oni are still balding during lobby readying up despite what settings you are on. And Spirit's hair animation is broken anyways. Eh... That's just sad.
I guess it looks worse on low just because Anti-Aliasing turns off once you switch to low settings. Mehh

How long are we waiting for this patch with the fix? About 4 months? Back in December, I saw forum posts about Rin's hair problems. And updates come out every 1.5 months. With the rare exception of some hotfix that fixes critical errors. Mehh. When they showed the trailer showing the new Archive, Rin had normal hair, then I was hoping that a hotfix of her hair would come out with this patch. But no.

The funniest part is that Rin's hair is bugged on the Archive cosmetic too, lol
It's texture looks unfinished just like the others. The animation is fine, however (i guess?), and it's kinda transparent, too. I think they just messed up something back then after forcing Anti-Aliasing and globally updating all hair textures. Which, once again, had mostly negative feedback.

On low settings Spirit's hair doesnt look like a hair. It looks more like a gas, but not hair.

This was one of my favourite Rin's cosmetics and i didn't even knew it looked THAT bad :)
Like, this is not even a hair. It looks like a bunch of ribbons.
Medium settings by the way.
And this one is on ultra settings..
I'll just keep updating this thread with screenshots and else. Idk how that bug can be in the game for THAT long.

But despite the fix the texture of her hair is still looks unfinished (especially on School Girl outfit).
The animation of her hair is still broken though. Some parts of her hair are living their own life, you can see it here:

Well, Rin's hair is still looks more like a gas (because of forced AA, still), but atleast she is not balding anymore. With Tattered Tradition she is not balding, too. But as i said before, it's more like a gas, not hair.
I've already created a new thread on 3.7.0 PTB bug section, so we have to wait untill it's acknowledgement i guess.

I play on the console, I can’t look at different graphics settings. But from the screenshots, I see that nothing has changed. Indeed, not a word is written in the patch note about the correction of any cosmetic errors.
