Don't give players the option to DC
If Behavior seriously wants to stop people from DCing, penalties aren't going to do it.
The simplest fix is removing the option to leave a match from the UI so you have to manually force close the game or turn off your router/computer. The fact that they just let you DC right from the menu is probably the biggest reason why its still so common despite everything they've done.

However Killers should be allowed to DC until they add an in game variation of a killer surrender. If Survivors can afk, and die on hook. Then Killer's should be able to aswell.
Before you say "Killers can go afk, then open the gates". That's if the survivors don't choose to take the game hostage and leaving 1 gen not repaired while they mex bp catagories, and then that's also another 2 minutes on top of the rest of the time you had to wait for survivors to finish gens when you open the gate yourself. Not to mention if you wanted to speed it up at all you have to "force the survivors out" which they can and most likely will just try to get as many safe loops as possible before flashlight spamming, and teabagging you at the open exit gate.
A whole lot of free abuse and bullying that the Killer shouldn't have to go through when they already didn't want to play in that game anymore. Which is why they need to be allowed to dc, or have an in game version of surrender - like being able to open the doors at any point of the game.

Just had a game some days ago where my Mate got stucked into a chest. Even the killer couldnt pick him up. For cases like this its neccesary but otherwise i think you are right.

That wouldn't be an option. There are times where you do legitimately need to leave, and asking people to go through task manager, shut off their internet, or restart their PC/console when they are legitimately stuck in a match is not an option. If you really want to leave a bunch of matches, pressing closing the game or shutting off your internet isn't going to make a difference. You'll likely still be timed out by the time you can re-open the game and get back in.

Survivors don't need to disconnect in most cases, they can die on the first hook, go AFK or seek out the killer to die quickly. I've seen all three of these happen in my games. The DC penalty isnt solving anything on the survivor side.

Idk why people wanna make people play a game they don't want too.
Also idk why people join the game only to DC both reek of low self-esteem.
You don't wanna let them leave cause you want to dominate them .
And instead of overcoming adversity you run away.
I don't get it

You don't have to restart your console to close dbd. On PC you can just alt+f4 or go to your desktop and close dbd on your taskbar.
