Gotta love DS
I was playing as Doctor on Haddonfield, and all the gens were done and the doors were open, but I'd gotten quite a few hooks. As I hooked one of the survivors and went to a door, they got unhooked. I managed to down them again, but instead of picking them up, I went to force 2 of their teammates to leave, but manage to down and pick one of the 2 up and kill them. Meanwhile, the guy that I had left on the ground had unbreakable and picked themself back up, but started healing themself instead of running to the gate. So I kill their teammate, bait the guy's dead hard and down him next to the gate. I pick him up to go and hook him... and get hit with DS and he escapes.
Like how is that fair at all? I didn't even tunnel him apart from downing him first as he was leaving. In fact, I'd gone after another person, downed and hooked them before returning back to the guy, who had the easiest opportunity to leave as I was hooking his friend.
DS needs to be reworked
EDIT: looking at the perks at the end, the 4th guy must have healed him instead of him having unbreakable. I was picking up the other one so I didn't see it happen

I got 1 kill wdym. I should be at least purple rank anyway but I got destroyed by the rank reset bug. Rank 4 to rank 12. Plus I was only playing doc for the ritual - he ain't my kind of killer

I don't know if intentionally eating 5 second stuns is the best tactic either, you will waste a lot of time not to mention the metric ton of flaming you're going to get for "tunneling".

Yeah, this is a good example of why DS just being 60 seconds of immunity from getting picked up, regardless of circumstance, is a pretty broken setup. It should disable the second I hook someone else but this is the world we live in.
For the record I also hate playing Doc, too bad I'm playing him all day today to get this stupid 4k challenge, and then I will have completed all the killer challenges.

Thanks for saying something useful and related to this thread, unlike the "10/10 bait" or "git gud" comments from people who definitely rely on ds to occupy more than 20 seconds of the killer's time at one point, but yeah I agree. If the killer is in a chase with another survivor for like 10 seconds or something, ds should deactivate until you're next unhooked.

No it doesn’t need to be reworked. It’s a ONE TIME USE and takes up a perk slot. It has a very specific situational use. I think killers find people too easily and I believe it’s more so the fact that that guy deserves a minute of protection. He wants to play the game too ya know? Not be on a hook 24/7. If anything I think DS needs to be a longer stun so it can guarantee the ability to get away. The survivor still leaves 7 seconds of scratch marks and it’s a 5 second stun. That still means you can track and down the guy again. you’ll most likely end up doing that most of the time anyway because you’re salty about the DS.

Old DS was also unfair to the killer who downed the DS user.

I think this game can be really unfair for survivors too especially when you incorporate lag and all the abilities killers have add a little map knowledge and how is it you aren’t at least getting a kill or two every game? Please tell me what killer players have to complain about when the game gives you everything you need already? What, you want survivors to just be locked in a match with you longer when you’re able to down hook tunnel and Mori people? Idk what kind of game that is for survivors. That’s not fun either.

2. They were all red ranks whilst I was green

Yup, DS is BS, even after rework before we were able to gladly eat 1-2 ds and no problem since we had ruin, now that we don't, people just love to bring ds and unbreakable, just had a match 4 ds 4 unbreakables, after I downed 2 other survivors and hooked those 2 I still got hit by DS by the first one, yeah fair and balanced because I'm a tunneler that hooked 2 survivors before the first one!!! Makes sense!!!!. currently even with the toolboxes nerf, people just stack prove thyself, bnp, buying them way too much time and less time for the killer.
But guess what? Can't do anything because DS saves them, they can do dumb stuff and still be safe no problem!
Sadly that is how it is, right now dbd is on the peak, a lot of killers are either quitting or moving to survivor since it's extremely easy to win that way.

I think DS is completely fine except during the endgame collapse where it's pretty much a free escape.
Some people have suggested that DS should be completely disabled when the exits are opened but that isn't really a good idea since that would just encourage camping and tunneling the hooked one.
So disabling it AFTER hooking someone during the endgame collapse might be a good idea. However, I'm pretty sure it could be abused somehow, so it isn't the most perfect solution either.

What about this? If the killer is really tunneling, DS becomes infinite but if they are not it lasts for 30 seconds, that way it would really be an anti tunneling perk not just a free to be a toxic player, just my opinion.
Edit: if they also get into lockers it becomes obsolete.

I made an account just to post this, I've been playing for half a year and have been watching this game for many years. I know all about DS reworks but I'm saying that it's current state needs to be altered to stop what happened to me from happening to others, and you can't say that this doesn't happen often
