Dear Dead By Daylight: Nurse, Doctor, and Spirit Changes (Excerpt)
Hello again,
A while ago, I uploaded a document (and accompanying forum post) titled Dear Dead by Daylight which has been getting incredible feedback from you guys here in the community, but the biggest suggestion was to split all the change ideas into multiple documents to make them easily digestible.
Today's suggestions are a little different. If you've been keeping up with the other posts, I have so far been covering how I would change other killers based on which killer I'm covering. Today, I'll be putting in the comments I had for killers that didn't warrant their own posts, including Nurse, Doctor, and Spirit. I will not be making any documentation of the Demogorgon or the Deathslinger here on the forums since I stated in the main document that they are actually fine as is.
I wanted to make a couple of mentions for those of you who have stuck around for this "series". First, thank you, I say it in all of these, but your critiques and support mean so much to me and I just wanted to thank you for all that you have done here.
Secondly, this is not the end for Dear Dead By Daylight here on the forums. I will be posting a lot more smaller and nuanced articles about varying ideas for Dead By daylight from perk changes, to aesthetic tweaks, to a new game phase. After all of it I'll be revisiting some of the articles that got a little cluttered and confused in the comments sections and be posting the redone ones here on the forums.
Thank you again and as always, if you want to know my reasoning or check out the rest of the changes, I'll leave a link to the main post as well as the previous article. Please leave constructive criticism and/or support, you're feedback is invaluable.

P.S. This list isn't perfect and I may change things on the main document based on new data, but I don't plan on changing anything on these fragment posts, so if something seems off, make sure to check the main document or comments to make sure it isn't already fixed.
Nurse:
"The nerfs worked, but I’d rework sound design so that her fatigue noise doesn’t sound so pathetic.
- Consequential changes: None"
Doctor:
"The new changes have made him fun and scary. It would really help add in the creep factor if the doctor illusions started a bit further away and walked in a straight line towards the survivor through obstacles. He also could use changes to the shock therapy cooldown and perhaps a minor range buff to it, but otherwise, he’s really good.
- Consequential changes: None"
Spirit:
"While the changes to her made her significantly more balanced, she could use a greater scare factor. Add a 1 second delay until her power recharge and survivor grunts should be omnidirectional during phase walk in order to better level the playing field during phase walk. Additionally, they should slightly change her sound design, her odd caws that she makes aren’t all that frightening.
- Consequential changes: None"

First, I am very much impressed with how fast you read this. Second, thank you on the Doctor one. Third, what part of the spirit changes would kill her off specifically and why do you think it would?

Longer recharging is free gen time..SNES already got 110 speed..and now that you can walk through her theres more jokes she has to deal with..plus scratches are already buggy, dont appear on grass, and are delayed so they are terrible tracking overall..take sound tracking from her and spirit will be a chore to play..iron will already makes her life miserable..this would essentially give it for free

Upon further inspection, I had made Spirit's changes a while ago and they may be outdated. I haven't seen many Spirits in recent games, so I hadn't known if she was balanced or not. I think that she might need a buff, but I think the existing changes to her have been warranted. I do stand by my idea to make the sound tracking omnidirectional, but perhaps the grunts could be heard closer like a more precise version of whispers. I also should add the removal of her passive phasing in her walking animation as it has annoyed many players I know of. What if while phase walking footsteps were louder as well, crouching being the same volume, walking being 20% louder, and running being 65% louder? I'm not sure, what do all of you think?

I made this particular part of the document a while ago, so it may be a tad outdated. I hadn't faced many Spirits recently, so I hadn't realized there was such a problem, but I'm beginning to think she needs a buff more than a nerf. I do think what the developers have done to her so far was reasonable, but there needs to be some counterbalancing. I do stand by my decision to make survivor groans omnipotent, but what if they were only heard in two levels, one where they are normally heard and stay at one volume and one when you're really close that is much louder, kind of like a miniature, more precise whispers? And/or, what if footsteps were louder and more directional: running being 65% louder, walking 20%, and crouching remaining the same? I definitely should add that the passive phasing in her walking animation should be removed and probably remove the recharge time extension, unless the max duration was extended for phase walk. I'm not sure, what do all of you think?

I really don't think Doctor needs any buffs. Unless you mean a nerf when talking about a change to his cooldown. If the cooldown of his shock therapy would be increased slightly, at least the cooldown of shock therapy, I could see a small buff to his shock therapy range being fair.

Honestly just leave her alone I say..shes had enough
